He diversified to music, bearing the alter ego, DJ Diesel, and even became a platinum-selling artist. His adventure into the world of music brought him into the path of American rapper and producer 50 Cent, someone he said he had not met being set up by Access Hollywood.

During a recent episode of his YouTube show, “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” Big Shaq mentioned that he is still the 50 Cent of the NBA despite retiring. He narrated when he met the famous rapper and the traits he emulated from him. The retired LA Lakers star said:

Shaquille O’Neal, on an episode of NBA on TNT, shared his thoughts on potential matchups during the NBA Postseason. He firmly believes that the Oklahoma City Thunder could face a challenging run as there is a chance of meeting the Golden State Warriors or the Los Angeles Lakers. 

He went as far as rooting for the Dubs and the Purple and Gold over the OKC Thunders, a statement that drew strong protests from his fellow hosts on the show. Big Shaq said:

The Lakers or the Warriors could beat the Thunder in the first round.

Presently, Oklahoma City Thunder are ranked second in the Western Conference, with a game in hand, after being overtaken by the Denver Nuggets, who have made it their mission to prioritize top seed. The Lakers and the Warriors have had quite a disappointing season so far, but the experience in both teams is enough to make them dangerous opposition for a young OKC side.
