“Chuck was absolutely right” Shaquille O’Neal comes out to defend Charles Barkley after ‘abject failure’ take on Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal
Shaquille O’Neal has made his way back to the NBA headlines as he once again backed up his best friend Charles Barkley for a very critical take against Kevin Durant. Sir Charles recently shocked the whole basketball world by calling out KD’s career outside of the Stephen Curry led Golden State Warriors as an abject failure. In return even he got a lot of criticism for that very disrespectful take. As he himself has never won a championship or carried a team all on his own. Shaquille O’Neal though believes there’s nothing wrong with the take and it makes complete sense.
Charles Barkley calling out Kevin Durant and commenting on his career by giving him another tag of Mr. Miserable quoted: “He get mad when we say it, he piggyback on the Warriors to win his first two championships, but if you go back and look at his career, as the best player and being a leader that all goes with that, he’s been an abject failure. I mean, every time he’s been like the guy who has to be the leader and the best player he has not had success. He just seems like a miserable person. I call him Mr. Miserable, he never gon’ be happy. Everybody giving him everything on a silver platter…”
The take landed Chuck in some good trouble with many standing against him as he went a little too far away with his words. Even KD clapped back at him. But Shaquille O’Neal being a real one and a legend of the game who is a Hall of Famer too and known as the most dominant force ever seen in league’s history backed him up. As he knows Chuck isn’t all wrong with his take and that makes sense.
As the seven footer sniper hasn’t really seen any success or even a good and deep playoffs run outside of his time with the Golden State Warriors. So it’s fair to throw such shade at him for not being a Bus Driver outside of Dub Nation. As he once again tried his best to bounce off from the system at Brooklyn Nets but failed to do so. That’s why Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley being critical about him and his career outside the Dubs is understandable and expected.

Shaquille O’Neal backs up Charles Barkley for comments against Kevin Durant
Shaquille O’Neal recently showed out his support for his best man, Charles Barkley for his comments on Kevin Durant’s career out side Golden State Warriors. On, “The Big Podcast with Shaq” he quoted: “Yeah, [you can that he’s an abject failure.], if you go back and look at his career as the best player and being the leader and all that goes with that. See we were there, we saw it. OKC, up 3-1. One more game, and when you’re the guy, all the pressure goes on you.”
Further Shaquille O’Neal added: “Talking about the bus driver, Chuck was absolutely right. He was not driving the bus in Golden State he was just sitting in the front. You win and we don’t respect it. Don’t get mad at us… We talking about, when you the guy, in championship moments, can you take it to the next level? We haven’t seen that yet…If you’re the guy and you ain’t get it done, that means you failed.” Like always Shaq ended it hilariously and mentioned that he doesn’t even know what abject means but delivered a perfect take around it.
It’s really high time for Kevin Durant now to prove everyone against him but on the right side wrong. And, for that to happen in the coming season he’ll have to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a championship and that can surely be done. As the franchise after a mad offseason month is back and together with the Big Three of KD, Kyrie and Ben Simmons. Now they are a super team with a good bench so the chances of them winning it all the coming season are great. And, if KD is able to pull it off and add one self-earned ring to his resume, Chuck and Shaquille O’Neal can be proved wrong but right now they are very right criticizing him.
