In the heartwarming moment, Shaq showed his generous spirit and shared a special moment with the young boy, who was likely just expecting a handshake. The kid walked up to Shaq sitting courtside looking for a handshake. The former MVP and champion instead wrapped up the young fan in a warm embrace and created a moment for him to remember. The foundation’s mission as per its website is to help the youth get a better future, “The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation creates pathways for underserved youth to help them achieve their full potential. The Foundation works to instill hope and bring about change in communities, collectively shaping a brighter future for our children.” Clearly, Shaq is inclined towards providing a better life for youngsters as is seen in his charity work.
The Lakers Hall of Famer is truly a gem of a person for his kindness and generosity. His acts of giving back to the community make him one of the best-liked personalities in sports. That is perhaps the biggest achievement of the NBA superstar’s career, at least that’s what he’ll tell you.

The foundation also collaborated with Icy Hot to commit $320,000 in grants to Title 1 high schools with American Express to provide $10 million in grants to Black-owned businesses. In both cases, the grants were provided as a relief to those affected by COVID-19.
Shaq has a great passion for giving back and has said, “I’ve always said, one big-time person just [needs to] take care of where they’re from, and what they represent”. This quote sums up why he puts so much effort into helping his community and inspiring. He also urges others to become more proactive in accommodating each other.
