Shaquille O’Neal has consistently displayed his affection through acts of generosity. According to a report by People magazine, the Los Angeles Lakers legend recently hosted his annual fundraiser, The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

During a live auction, O’Neal made a generous gesture by bidding $20,000 to secure an onstage table for his mother, Lucille O’Neal, to enjoy performances by renowned artists like John Legend and Jennifer Hudson.

Following the event, Shaq expressed his gratitude to John Legend on Instagram, captioning a clip of the singer’s performance with, “Best you ever had @johnlegend thanks brother.”

The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation’s annual charity event, aimed at helping underserved children, has been highly successful. In 2021, it raised $2.9 million, and in 2022, it brought in an even larger sum of $3.15 million through auction sales and ticket revenue.

Shaquille O’Neal’s acts of generosity extend beyond his family. In June 2022, the NBA legend paid a remarkable $25,000 to cover the entire bill for a restaurant. This selfless gesture occurred during a date at Jue Lan Club in New York City.

According to a source who was present at the restaurant, the bill for all 40 tables that were occupied that night amounted to well over $25,000. The source also revealed that Shaq had intended to keep this generous act discreet until he departed.

Additionally, the insider mentioned that Shaq left the restaurant staff with “the biggest tip they’ve ever received.”

This incident is just one among many philanthropic acts that Shaq has undertaken. Since his retirement from basketball, the former NBA star has ventured into various fields and has enjoyed considerable success in most of them. Adding to his fortune, he has used the money to put into right causes as well.
