“Dark Nowitzki,” Shaquille O’Neal forces female co-host to refer to him with a WILD new nickname

One of the basketball world’s funniest characters is Shaquille O’Neal. The legendary Los Angeles Lakers player will go to any length to make his supporters smile. As a result, the Legend recently requested Kristen Ledlow to introduce him with his new nickname, which was adapted from Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks but with a slight variation. Just DJ Diesel doing his thing.

Shaquille O’Neal asked the sports anchor to launch his new nickname in a clip from NBA on TNT that Ledlow herself posted on Twitter. The 35-year-old anchor was initially hesitant to refer to Shaq by his new nickname. In fact, she remarked, “I’m not saying it.” But she ultimately had to give in to Shaq’s demands.

After finally introducing Shaq with his new nickname, “Dark Nowitzki,” Ledlow instantly began laughing. The nickname was named after the Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki but just the first name was changed to “Dark”.

Fans could not control their laugh after this viral video and took social media by storm. One fan wrote, “Ledlow a legend for this” and another fan remarked, “Give us Mavs fans something to smile about in these dark days.” You can find some more reactions here below:

Shaquille O’Neal is known to be different from other athletes. Observation says he enjoys giving back to the community without drawing attention to himself. He did it while he was playing on the court. And, since retiring, he has had more time to provide individualized care to those in need.

‘Meals on Wheels’ became quite popular during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to feed elderly people who couldn’t routinely purchase food for themselves. When Shaquille O’Neal first saw this project, he was smitten. And, jumped in for a good cause knowing the wealth he has can save and influence many lives around.

He would later provide $15,000 to the cause, but when he was doing so, he noticed that one of the company’s trucks that were being used to transport the meals and deliver the donation wasn’t in great shape. He would therefore invest more of his own money. As he wanted to repair the truck in order to maintain a constant flow of meals. Shaq had already donated money from his own pocket to a small firm, and he most certainly wouldn’t be the last.
