NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and renowned sportscaster Ernie Johnson had a lively time on the set of “Inside the NBA” to celebrate Halloween. The NBA on TNT crew sported an array of costumes, embracing the occasion and the festive spirit of the holiday.

The NBA legends on set engaged in a friendly banter, playfully commenting on each other’s costume choices. The former Lakers legend sported a wig that covered his left eye, humorously alluding to the new “emo” look of Miami Heat’s superstar, Jimmy Butler. Charles Barkley, the former Phoenix Suns superstar, dressed up as a bus driver, playfully referencing his past arguments with Suns’ star Kevin Durant. Meanwhile, Kenny Smith drew inspiration from Tom Cruise’s iconic role in “Top Gun” for his costume.

Among all the costumes on set, Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley’s outfits were the most notable, both making references to the NBA. Amid the banter, Barkley initially mistook Shaq’s costume for that of an unattractive woman, prompting Kenny Smith to correct him, saying:

Shaq, realizing his costume wasn’t quite right, burst into laughter and asked Chuck to repeat it, to which Charles quipped:

Everyone has an opinion. I am intelligent enough, so before I hit the emotion switch on, I like to listen. Now, I'm not a hater. I understand what Chuck is saying. Let me explain.

Shaq added:

How many times did we lose to Mike before we finally beat Mike? So, back in our day, you had to compete to get that respect. Now, the way Mr. KD did it, it was different from the old school way, they lose to a team then he joins the team that beat him, then he wins two championships, he made it easier.
Now we can go back and say, me, if I know that was okay to do, D[ennis] Scott, I would have left you after the second year and went to go play with Mike. But no, I wanted to beat Mike.
