Remember that infamous meme, “Reeeeeel Badman”? Well, it’s back again. And this time it’s Shaquille O’Neal who is here to remind us of its hilarity. In a recent Instagram post, the basketball legend shared an adlib video reminiscent of that famous meme. While the video features O’Neal playfully imitating a Jamaican accent, thinking it was just a joke, little did people know it was his plan to keep Charles Barkley’s jokes alive and bring laughter to his fans.
The joke, you may ask? Well, first we have to understand the meme and go back to the past. In 2003, a clip from a Jamaica News interview went viral, and even to this day, the meme is deemed “legendary.” In the interview, Ninjiaman, a controversial Jamaican deejay, was asked how many kids he had. And with a shift reply, he said “23 children, 22 baby mothers,” followed by “Reeeel Badman,” which has been clipped since that day.
Back to Shaq’s post, he posted a video of him lipsyncing that famous meme and posting it on his Instagram with the caption “reeeeeeeeeel BODMAN”. While many trolled the NBA Hall of Famer, the joke lives on from just a simple post.
Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley have been buddies for a while. Jokes, playful shots, and roasts – such things have been a part of their friendship for a while. And one of their jokes includes Shaq having a lot of children. While it could only be a joke, questions have been asked about its legitimacy. And Shaq’s recent post has just added fuel to the sense of humor and suspense.
Barkley’s Hilarious Jab at Shaq for having “many kids”
If you’ve ever watched Inside the NBA with Shaq and Chuck, you know you’re in for an entertaining show. Not just your usual highlights and postgame analysis, the crew knows how to make the show interesting with humor, delivering some hilarious jokes at times. And one of those moments would be Charles Barkley aiming directly at Shaq for being a father of many kids.
After Shaq wished his youngest son Shaqir O’Neal a happy birthday live, Barkley seized the opportunity and couldn’t walk away without making a witty remark.
This is the first day of 40 games and 40 nights. You can hello to a different kid every day.
Yikes! Maybe that was too smooth and direct from Chuck but he is used to making those sorts of witty jokes. But the question remains, “Does Shaq have too many kids”. From jokes, we may have got a hint, but in his personal life, we may never know certain things.
