Acknowledging the same, Hall of Famer big man, Shaquille O’Neal has revealed how exactly should NBA players be protecting their family from heckling fans. Just like him attacking intent on the court back in the day, Shaq does not want any instance of the past to be repeated. 

Fans might be aware that Chris Paul was evidently seen warning a kid when he decided to push his wife and mom as Dallas Mavericks levelled the series against Phoenix Suns. On the same note, Shaquille O’Neal wants NBA players to hire people who can sit with their family in the stands only to protect them and also to give a firm reply even things go haywire.

Speaking recently on an episode of the “Big Podcast with Shaq,” NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal shared his thoughts of the situation and said he understood Paul’s reaction, but he still needed to focus on the game. O’Neal said, “I understand that he’s protecting his family, but you have to focus on your job. You gotta have other people to do that.”

The former NBA Champ went into detail later on, saying that he believes the father of the fans involved should have been put in jail after the confrontation with Chris Paul’s family. 

He added, “Well, guess what? His dad should have been in jail because I’mma tell you something, my dad? Hahahah. Sarge ain’t playing none of that.” 

Shaq does hold a valid point here; players need to be fully focused on their game. If they have any stress upon the well-being of any of their family member, be it on away or home court, then they surely cannot perform at the best of their caliber. 

After that particular incident, Chris Paul, Suns have gone onto win and also lose a game against Dallas Mavericks. Being the first series, which has entered Game 7 it remains to be which among these two teams are able to book a place in the WC Finals.
