Shaquille O’Neal isn’t just one of the most dominant players in the NBA ever, he is also one of the most hysterical people on and off the court. Shaquille O’Neal enjoyed tremendous success during his NBA career as he won 4 NBA titles to go with a 3 Finals MVPs and one regular-season MVP. Adam Sandler’s new movie ‘Hustle’, starring Juancho Hernangomez and whose executive producer is King James himself, will be out soon on Netflix. Adam Sandler featured on Shaquille O’Neal’s podcast “The Big Podcast with Shaq”, one of the most popular sports podcasts, as Shaq told the story of Adam pranking him on the set of a movie in 2020.
Adam Sandler is a big fan of the NBA, and the Hollywood star has been an avid follower of the league for decades at this point. Sandler has also combined his passion for sports with his career. The veteran actor appeared on the most recent episode of the Big Man’s podcast to talk about his new Netflix movie. Sandler and O’Neal have been friends for a long time, also Sandler is a big fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, hence he used to go to Lakers games quite frequently to watch Shaq play.

In 2022, Adam Sandler is all hands on deck with the premiere of his inspirational sports drama, ‘Hustle’ . Sandler leads as Stanley Sugerman, a down-on-his luck basketball scout for the Philadelphia 76ers who, while abroad discovers Bo Cruz, whose role is played by none other than Juancho Hernangómez , a once-in-a-lifetime player with a rocky past. Sandler’s scout takes it upon himself to bring the phenom to America without his team’s approval. Against the odds, Stanley and Bo have one final shot to prove they have what it takes to make it in the NBA.
From commercials and hip-hop songs to movies, Shaq has done pretty much everything off-court with style. But one of his more recent movie appearances had a fun twist to it when Adam Sandler decided to prank him. Sandler is one of the most jovial actors, mostly known for his witty comedies, as Shaq revealed another episode of their hilarious relationship, on the set of ‘Hubie Halloween’
“The last Adam movie I did was called Hubie Halloween. And I had to do this scene where I’m eating this sandwich with this girl and French Kissing her at the same time. So Adam made me do it about 50 times. Cut. Cut. Cut. I looked back at Adam, like what the hell!… The girl that he had me kissing, she was kind of getting into it. I was like: ‘Hey lady, this is just for the movie. Adam cut!’“
It’s typical Shaq behavior, although he was more sophisticated here. He was being a true professional, and it seems the lady doing the scene with him didn’t mind it all that much. But he has a lot of experience doing movies, especially with Adam Sandler, who is his great friend. Aside from Hubie Halloween, Shaq appeared in the Grown-Ups franchise, Jack and Jill, and Blended with Adam.
“I used to run after a special play and be like Adam give me a movie, and he’d be like, win a championship Shaq. So I won 3 then I got traded and next thing I know Adam called me and said, Shaq I made you a promise you won 3 championships I got 3 movies for you.” Big Shaq narrated, classic trash talk between good friends, as Adam and Shaq go way back in time.
Hustle is a movie which shows a glimpse of how an overseas player comes to the NBA with an ambition and makes it big. It was released on Netflix on 3rd June in the US. It stars Adam Sandler as the scout and NBA legend Kenny Smith as his best friend in the movie. Current NBA and Utah Jazz player Juancho Hernangomez as Bo Cruz the upcoming star in the movie. Adam will hope his movie gets the praise, while also not missing any chance to embarrass Shaquill O’Neal.
