Shaquille O’Neal made a surprising disclosure following criticism from Mo’Nique about his previous comments where he said that he refrains from confiding in women. He promptly addressed the backlash regarding his statement about not sharing his feelings with women while in a relationship. In doing so, the TNT analyst affirmed his current romantic involvement, acknowledging the remarks made by Mo’Nique on the Club Shay Shay podcast.
In a previous episode of The Big Podcast, Shaq discussed his hesitation to share his innermost feelings with women, suggesting a reluctance to be emotionally vulnerable. He conveyed a firm stance against the idea, indicating that he believes opening up to women could potentially result in negative consequences, such as having those vulnerabilities used against him in future conflicts.
His statement ignited passionate discussions across various platforms before Shannon Sharpe raised the topic with Mo’Nique during an episode of Club Shay Shay, prompting her to share her thoughts on the matter. She said:
How do you take advice from a man who has no woman? If you have that person in your life and you say, ‘Listen, I’m dealing, I’m going through’. Who else do you talk to at night time in your pillow talk?
Shaquille O’Neal took notice of the strong viewpoint when co-host Adam Lefkoe mentioned it on a recent episode of the Big Podcast. The four-time NBA Champion then openly addressed the comedian’s remarks in the latest installment of his show. He stated:
We can have respectful disagreements without getting personal and I would never get peronal with Miss Mo'Nique. I'll never get personal wih a woman.
Meanwhile, amidst the discussions, the Lakers legend clarified that he is not without romantic companionship. However, the interpersonal dynamics of the 7ft 1″ legend intrigued viewers as speculation about his relationships began.
Shaquille O’Neal out-earned the Superman actor at his own premiere after the 2006 Heat title win.
Shaquille O’Neal, one of the most marketable athletes globally, attracted the attention of every brand, eager to associate with the NBA superstar, including movie studios. Allegedly, they were prepared to offer him more money to attend the premiere than they paid their lead actor.
During a conversation with NFL Center Jason Kelce on the latest episode of the ‘Big Podcast with Shaq’, Shaquille O’Neal shared a similar incident that occurred after he secured his fourth NBA championship in 2006. He said,
When I won in Miami, I got a $2 million cheque the next day. They called me and said, ‘Hey, we want you to go to the Superman premiere. So I told [my people], ‘I don’t want to go to the Superman premiere.’ They said, ‘$2 million.’ They got me on a f**king plane, I’m in f**king LA on the red carpet.
O’Neal accompanied by his then-wife Shaunie, he earned a $2 million payday for his presence. Allegedly, this amount surpassed the fee paid to actor Brandon Routh for portraying Superman in the movie. Routh reportedly received $1 million for his role, half of what O’Neal received just to attend. This illustrated the Hall of Famer’s immense popularity and high demand during his prime.
