In his podcast, “The Big Podcast With Shaq,” Shaquille O’Neal shared how he ran into female rapper Ice Spice when he met Taylor Swift at her suite during Super Bowl LVIII at the Allegiant Stadium. He also explained the reason why he shared the flirty caption about Ice Spice that took the internet by storm.

Shaquille O’Neal himself is no stranger to celebrity interactions. He once caused a frenzy on social media when he said that he wanted an audience with the pop star and global icon Taylor Swift. He finally had his wishes met as the artist was present to cheer her boyfriend, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, as the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

Big Shaq, in the process of meeting Swift, met and allegedly shot his shot at upcoming female rapper Ice Spice. Photos of them were taken, followed by a flirty caption. O’Neal then said he wasn’t trying to flirt, even though he still thinks she is “so damn fine,” with the female rapper when he wrote the caption. Instead, he was trying to be respectful, at least according to him.

Although it doesn’t give full context as to why he went with that caption of all possible ones, Big Shaq insisted that he doesn’t shoot his shot that way. Shaq has a thing for sliding into DMs, which is the supposed unorthodox style he was probably referring to.

Nicki Minaj was once a guest on Shaq’s show on TNT, Inside the NBA. The show has hosted plenty of other celebrities who have come to promote their brand or just have fun. This time, the famous rapper did a freestyle for the hosts on the show, Grant Hill, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson.

This happened in 2014, before his most recent interaction with Ice Spice. The encounter was fun as all the cast members joined Minaj to do a freestyle, including Shaq, who played DJ Diesel. And during Shaq’s turn, his lyrics went a bit overboard.

Minaj did mess up with his flow when she interrupted him, but the big man took it with grace. This just serves to show O’Neal as a jovial and down-to-earth person, which he is usually known for.
