“We big guys are sensitive about our weight” Shaquille O’Neal says Zion Williamson is coming for redemption against all odds.

Shaquille O’Neal recently went on The Big Podcast, the segment was hilarious with insightful intakes and when O’Neal was asked his opinion on which team to look out for this season. Shaq’s answer was none other than the New Orleans Pelicans. Shaquille O’Neal, a big player of his time too, and the most dominant the league has ever seen, had some words of encouragement for a returning Zion Williamson.

He displayed full confidence in Zion Williamson as he stated: “Big boy is back, he’s looking good. I’m going with big Zion to dominate this year, not play well, dominate. See, us big guys are sensitive when you start talking about our weight, so I know he coming back with that force to show people,’ Yeah I’m big, but guess what, I’m the best big at being big.’”

Shaq’s co-analyst Kenny Smith on Inside The NBA had a differing take as he picked the Los Angeles Clippers. Smith believes John Wall had a deep impact on the team last season and with Paul George and Kawhi under the coaching of Tyron Lue will be a force to be reckoned with.

Zion Williamson’s New Contract has a Clause that will keep his weight in check

Zion ever since joining the league back in 2019, has been gaining weight with him even reaching 300 pounds multiple times. His new $193 million five year rookie extension states that there will be routine body measures so that his combined weight and body fat percentage does not exceed 295 pounds. Williamson is a dominant big man that is a treat to watch but his forceful and explosive play style makes it less than ideal to carry around that much weight and coupled with serious injuries that his right knee and foot went through.

Williamson in the first three seasons of his NBA career has only played a total of 85 games and with the 6ft Power Forward being someone New Orleans wants to build the team around, The team introduced this unusual and controversial clause to the contract. He has been undergoing intense training and looks to be as dominant as ever and with CJ McCollum who shifted gears for the Pelicans at the end of the last season. The New Orleans will definitely be a squad that the other teams should fear.
