Shaquille O’Neal was a very agile and strong 7-footer who easily weighed over 300 lbs. After his departure from LA, he slowly began to loss his physique which in return affected his ability to move. By the end of his career, O’Neal more or less stayed in the league to earn money which was apparent when he played his last season with the Boston Celtics.
Since retirement, the former 2000 league MVP has been trying to maintain his health and physical state going on several workout routines and diets. He told GQ that he diet mainly incorporate five eggs, a shake, fruits, vegetables and a cut of any meat for dinner. But this healthy routine was only followed while he was at home.
During to his weight loss, Shaquille O’Neal began to experience sleep apnea. When he visited his doctor, it was revealed to him that… “Sleep apnea can cause hypertension or strokes, you could die.” He also revealed how the shocking news scared him. “I had to really get checked out. When they hit you with that three letter word that starts with D and ends with E, it changes stuff up.”
