The game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Philadelphia 76ers saw an interesting pause on Saturday. The officials had to stop the clock at 10:55 in the second quarter to tackle an unforeseen problem. Apparently, a few parts of the Grizzlies’ home court were coming apart, which led the referees to pause the game.

The Philadelphia 76ers had a nine-point lead at 32-23 during this time. Two opponents, Grizzlies’ GG Jackson and 76ers’ Buddy Hield, decided to fix the problem themselves. Both players showed teamwork and jumped on the floor in sync to put the parts back together. This particular moment quickly went viral on social media, leaving NBA fans in splits.

Ultimately, the FedExForum engineers came to the floor and fixed the problem. After a delay of a few minutes, the game was resumed and players came back on the court to play. The delay, however, did not have much effect on the game as the 76ers were able to maintain their lead and outscored the Memphis Grizzlies 34-19 in the second quarter.

Jackson was an essential part of the Grizzlies’ performance, scoring 17 points. However, the team was unable to stop the 76ers star Joel Embiid, who scored a double-double with 30 points and 12 rebounds. The 76ers were able to get a comfortable 116-96 win and cling onto their play-in spot.

The 76ers are undefeated since Joel Embiid’s return

The Philadelphia 76ers season was in danger as their star Joel Embiid went through an injury. The star went through a knee injury in late January and was reported to be out for a long time. After having a 10-4 record in December, the winning percentage of the team started to go down and the team fell to 7-10 last month.

However, after missing two months, Embiid returned to action and defeated the third seed in the Western Conference the Oklahoma City Thunder. Since then the team has won three consecutive games while Embiid has averaged 20+ points. Playing like he never left, the former MVP is showcasing his credibility.

Unfortunately, due to the NBA’s 65-game rule, Embiid will not be eligible for any postseason awards, but his return will certainly help the Sixers. In the star’s absence, the team fell to the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference, creating a play-in risk. However, with his addition, the Sixers now have a chance to secure a spot in the playoffs.
