On the most recent episode of Green Room podcast, Danny Green suggested that he has shelved his retirement decision for another time but especially not after the 2021-22 season, wherein he couldn’t help his team fight in the semi-final round. Given that ACL injuries have caused marquee stars to miss an entire season, yet Green is optimistic enough to only miss 8-9 months as per his plans.

“I’d like to end on my own terms and not a major injury. … I will be back before All-Star break. You better believe it. You heard it here first. So I will work my tail off to rehab to get back healthy,” said the Sixers sharpshooter.

“My body and my bones usually heal pretty well. I don’t have any bad habits. So, yeah, I think I’ll be back in time to help the team in the playoff run and show and prove that I’m able to still play at that level to help a team get a win in the playoffs.”

Given that this marquee shooter has already won championship rings with different teams, his experience and guidance is key for the younger set of players. Moreover, with Sixers looking to avenge their two dreadful semi-final exits, Green’s arrival in the second half of the next 2022-23 season could even be more-inspirational than ever.

That being said, it is always an optimistic sign to witness a veteran wanting to continue in the action-packed league regardless of their injury concerns. Will Danny Green be able to add to his trophy cabinet? Remains to be seen.
