“I thought Father Time tapped Bron on the shoulder when he missed the playoffs” Skip Bayless believes 37-year old Chris Paul is faring better than LeBron James

LeBron James’ season has been an overall disappointment with the LA Lakers. Being the top contenders in the Western Conference and then starting off the year on a bad note itself was a big red flag that many avoided and hoped for the situation to get better. But his best friend, Chris Paul has been living the dream of being a team leader past the age of 35.

CP3 led the Phoenix Suns into the NBA finals last season which many believed was a sham as the other team’s best players were injured. Along with the dominance of Devin Booker, he proved all their doubters wrong this season after capturing the number one seed in the entire league by just brushing past their rivals with ease. The Suns are currently battling the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round of the post-season.
Chris Paul becomes the oldest player to record a 30-point double-double in NBA history

Chris Paul is looked at as the perfect example of a point guard and his leadership skills have brought teams to their best seasons. On Sunday, the veteran All-Star demolished the Pelicans during their first playoff game. The Suns won 110-99 after Paul’s fourth-quarter antics. He finished the game with 30 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds.
The legendary guard became the oldest player in the history of the league to record a 30-point double-double at the age of 36. Following the game, Paul said, “I think a lot of times people think about our offense… but our defense is what we really sort of hang our hats on.” The Suns were able to hold Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum as well as Jonas Valanciunas from scoring going for a combined 22 shots on 63 attempts from the field.
Skip Bayless showers his appreciation over Chris Paul saying he is better than LeBron at age 36

In comparison to LeBron James’ 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists season, Chris Paul is definitely nowhere near it. He averaged 14.7 points and 4.4 rebounds and led the league in assists with 10.8 per game. Paul’s presence had a much larger impact on his team unlike LeBron failing to lead the Lakers in the playoffs with one of the best rosters in the NBA.
Analyst Skip Bayless compared both players and called CP3 a much better player at the age of 36 than LeBron despite having a significantly better statistical season. What Skip gave importance to was the level of impact and leadership both players had on their respective teams. He said, “I have been hard in years past on CP3. Couldn’t quite get Phoenix home last year… but he did give us one of the greatest game 6’s I’ve ever witnessed. The more I watch him late in his career, the younger he plays. In the big picture, you watch what Chris did last night… and you say, ’Maybe he’s the co-MVP of this team.”
