Skip Bayless just proved why he is the biggest LeBron James hater as he brought him into the conversation while thanking Kevin Durant for not letting him win more championships. Because the renowned broadcaster believes if Kevin Durant didn’t join the Golden State Warriors then LeBron James would probably be having 6 championships just like Michael Jordan. Then Skip Bayless would be in a lot of trouble while trying to have his favorite player ahead of King in the G.O.A.T debate.
Both Kevin Durant and Golden State Warriors had some history with LeBron James before teaming up. As KD fell short in 2012 and the Warriors fell short in 2016 (blew a 3-1 lead) against him. After the 2016 season, the league spectated another superteam being formed as KD joined the Golden State Warriors and the rest is history. Kevin Durant and the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors together made it to three NBA Finals won two rings and KD got himself two FMVPs. Recently, these runs have been in trend as Draymond Green and many Warriors fans aren’t respecting KD enough but Skip Bayless is the luckiest man as his legacy of hating on LeBron James lives till the day.
Skip Bayless thanking KD quoted: “Kevin Durant saves Steph’s legacy, and, frankly he saved me from LeBron James and his billions of blind witnesses out there, because KD himself, really by himself, he wrecked LeBron’s legacy. If he hadn’t said yes to Golden State, to Steph and Draymond (Green), isn’t it highly possible that LeBron wins two more championships in 2017 and ’18, because I think it’s a done deal? And I think the Warriors knew it was a done deal.”

Skip Bayless probably fears even the thought of Bron having six NBA championships just like MJ. As addressing the what-if situation he dramatically quoted: “What if LeBron James was six-and-four in the NBA Finals right now? He’d have as many as (Michael) Jordan. My God, save me. And all I would hear is, ‘Well, he’s got six championships, and he went to eight straight NBA Finals.’ I shudder at the thought of LeBron having six rings right now. So, I publicly need to thank Kevin Durant for what he did. After 2018, that’s when I started calling Kevin Durant the best player on the planet.”
Everything said by Skip Bayless is correct as it wasn’t the Golden State Warriors who stopped the Finals run of LeBron James. But it was the Kevin Durant-led Golden State Warriors who got the job done. Many don’t ride with this take as they believe even without KD the results would have been same. But that’s not what happened in 2016 and now it’s all a done deal but surely an interesting topic to discuss which will be brought up on multiple occasions by Skip Bayless.
