Skip Bayless BERATES Gregg Popovich as “egomaniacal”, says Wembanyama, Spurs need a new coach
Skip Bayless believes Gregg Popovich to not be the right coach for Victor Wembanyama.

Gregg Popovich, Victor Wembanyama and Skip Bayless
Skip Bayless is no more a fan of Gregg Popovich and his legendary coaching skills. The analyst believes it’s time for the old-school head coach to hang his gloves and rest. This take of Skip Bayless may disappoint a lot of San Antonio Spurs fans. As the greatest NBA prospect, Victor Wembanyama is soon going to join them as they won the Draft Lottery. And, a generational talent like Wemby being coached by the best coach in the league Gregg Popovich would just mean success for the franchise.
But Skip Bayless doesn’t believe the same. And, he wants the San Antonio Spurs to part ways with Gregg Popovich. As he doesn’t want Victor Wembanyama to be coached by him. He’s been showing off his rough feelings towards the Pop since the NBA Draft Lottery via Twitter and now even has a fledged take on it via “Undisputed”.
As sitting alongside Shannon Sharpe, Skip Bayless quoted: “I was bittersweet last night in my emotions. Because I don’t wanna see Pop coach Wembanyama. Cauz he seems like such a great kid but he’s a new school kid. His mother has coached him and he’s not gonna be able to take this, and Pop is 75. I don’t care about the age, I just care about the old-school… It’s time to go with a new coach. A young coach and it is the new era with a kid who I think could be a big star. I think he can.”
Skip Bayless isn’t all wrong with his take here, as Gregg Popovich is an old-school guy and is more into the fundamentals of the game. While Victor Wembanyama, is the type of player Pop has never been around and he’s just a kid, so he won’t like to be treated how Gregg Popovich treats others, especially how he treated Kawhi Leonard and the media members in the past. But for the franchises’ success, he may change his techniques and himself to go on another run with a legend in the making, Victor Wembanyama.
Skip Bayless calls out Gregg Popovich for still being a coach

Skip Bayless rightly remembers how Gregg Popovich once said he’d be gone once Tim Duncan retires. But it’s been seven long years since TD retired and we have Pop still coaching the young team of San Antonio Spurs who’ll soon be drafting Victor Wembanyama. As Skip Bayless called him out on “Undisputed” and even on Twitter.
Skip Bayless in a tweet of his wrote: “As I said on last week’s “Skip Bayless Show,” I’ve become less and less of a Popovich fan. Tim Duncan made him just the way Brady made Belichick. Pop always claimed he’d leave when Duncan did. Uh, he’s still coaching. Is it time for the Spurs to go in a new coaching direction?”
Skip Bayless even compared the duo of Tim Duncan and Gregg Popovich with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. The analyst also mentioned how Pop is “egomaniacal” and how that ruined Kawhi Leonard’s time with the San Antonio Spurs.
