“He’s a lousy shooter from three and the free throw line” Skip Bayless calls Luka Doncic out despite his 40-point double-double performance in Game 3

“He’s a lousy shooter from three and the free throw line” Skip Bayless calls Luka Doncic out despite his 40-point double-double performance in Game 3

Skip Bayless lashes at Luka Doncic

Skip Bayless was at his most brutal again as he targeted Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic and his production in the 3rd quarter in particular in Game 3 vs the Golden State Warriors. The latter team rallied in 3rd quarter of every game to so far stamp their dominance in each of the showdowns in this Western Conference Final series.

Although Luka Doncic had 40 point game, yet that wasn’t enough to stop the advancing Golden State Warriors from winning the game at American Airlines Arena. He had minimal support from other players who threw blanks in an important game-3 of the Western Conference Finals. Skip highlighted the point differential in 3rd between the two teams and criticized Luka’s contribution in that period of time. The sports media personality didn’t spare Luka on any ground pointing out his poor shooting form from long range and free throw line.

Skip also added his favorite target – LeBron James in the discussion and used free throw and 3-point stats to denounce both the superstars. With aging LeBron James, Skip looked to have found new star to target, who is none other than Mark Cuban’s gem- Luka Doncic.

Those who have missed the showdown of these WC Finals, Golden State Warriors particularly have put up high numbers in the 3rd quarter and back it up with a strong 4th quarter to finish the game on a positive note. Skip targeted the same point in the series and also attacked Luka Doncic’s incapability to do anything about it.

As per stats, Golden State Warriors scored 60.5 points in the second half of the game. That by far is the highest playoff total by a team. With such stats backing the opponents, Luka Doncic and the team should have worked their way out to stop the Warriors’ run. In the 3rd quarter of the current series, the Warriors outscored the Mavs by 31 points, averaging 10 points per game.

And sadly for the Jason Kidd team, their megastar Luka Doncic struggled most in 3rd quarter. He totaled just 10 points with poor efficiency of around 35% from the field and 0% from the range. To be fair to the Slovenian star, he was neither supported by his teammates in the Warriors’ dominant quarter, for that matter for most of the games.

On contrary, Golden State Warriors players contributed one way or another as they shot 47% from the field and 35% from the long-range. Their free throw shooting was also on a roll, as they manage to score 22-of-25 from the line, and the same is applicable in other games also.

High scoring Curry was scoring at will as he was 50% from range and field and thrived in the 3rd quarter as explained. Skip said“I gotta go 75% blame for Luka. I don’t say anything; the stats scream that he is a lousy shooter from free throw line. Going into game 2 he was shooting 34% from 3-point for his career and this series. Over his career and these playoffs he was 74% from the free throw line, those are LeBron Stats, and Luka is almost touch worst than even LeBron is, from both 3 and free throw line.”

With all that said, Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks will be playing in the elimination game tomorrow night and they need to come up with a strategy to somehow extend their postseason.
