“Master media manipulator” Skip Bayless claims LeBron James used his recent injury to COVER UP for inevitable ‘father time’ struggles

“Master media manipulator” Skip Bayless claims LeBron James used his recent injury to COVER UP for inevitable ‘father time’ struggles

LeBron James, Skip Bayless

Skip Bayless has consistently criticized LeBron James harshly throughout the years and he has extraordinarily high expectations for the LA Lakers great even in his 20th season. Bayless criticized Lebron on Twitter for exploiting the media after the Lakers star was sidelined for their prior game against Utah.

The most storied franchise in the league has had a difficult start to the year after missing the playoffs the previous year. With a 2-7 record, they presently own the second-worst record in the NBA. LeBron James and the Lakers have had a difficult start to the season as they were only able to secure their first victory of the season last week after a terrible winless streak. James’ absence from the team’s most recent loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday has caused the conversation to turn to his health with Skip Bayless taking the lead.

As it was evident from last season and is starting to show some signs of itself in his play, LeBron James cannot be the Los Angeles Lakers’ primary hope. James’ playing style has unquestionably changed as a result of the repeated injuries and it has affected him any many ways.  According to Skip Bayless, it’s difficult to determine the full degree of James’ injuries. In his latest tweet, he stated: “LeBron is a master media manipulator. He is much better at making narratives than making 3’s or free throws. LeBron wanted them to announce foot soreness because it plants an excuse.”

The Lakers fall to the Jazz again without LeBron James

The Utah Jazz defeated Los Angeles 139-116 on Monday night, their second victory against the depleted Lakers in four days. Lauri Markkanen scored 23 points, Jordan Clarkson added 22, and in total seven Jazz players scored in double figures. In terms of points scored, field goals made and field goal percentage, Utah achieved season highs. The Jazz scored at least 130 points for the third time in 12 games, making 53 field goals while shooting 56.4% from the field and 16 3-pointers.

Los Angeles was down to just 11 players after LeBron James, Lonnie Walker IV and Patrick Beverley were injured. Los Angeles dropped to 2-8 with a season-high 29 points from Anthony Davis and 22 from Russell Westbrook off the bench. They managed to score 116 points, including 71 in the opening half and 98 through three quarters, while shooting a respectable 48.8% overall and 37.5% from the 3-point range. Their defense didn’t make the journey and started to struggle the entire time to keep up with the Jazz.

Skip Bayless bashes LeBron for manipulating the media

In a recent appearance on “Undisputed,” Skip Bayless said that the future Hall of Famer should be held to a higher standard of accountability since he is deceiving the media into believing he is injured. Skip stated: “My only issue with LeBron over time has been he is the all-time master media manipulator. With help from Maverick Carter, who is a genius, and Rich Paul, who has genius about him also. They know how to manipulate the media.”

LeBron is far from a problem for the Lakers but given the quality of player he is, he should be held to a higher standard. The league has never seen anything like the production he is producing in his late 30s. The front office management should receive the majority of the criticism for not doing more to make the most of their great player’s remaining opportunity and there is a serious shortcoming with James and the LA Lakers as depicted through the first 10 games.
