Skip Bayless concludes LeBron James pushed himself ‘too’ much to break Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s record which cost him the season
As LeBron James' expected date of return remains unknown, analyst Skip Bayless as usual had certain things to say about James on his twitter.
LeBron James Vs the Mavericks
Skip Bayless has never held himself back from speaking about LeBron James, be it his statistics, his records or even his personal life. Fans hilariously claim that LeBron lives rent-free in Skip’s head.
Bayless took to his Twitter on Thursday and passed a comment about LeBron James’ absence. The analyst said Sounds like LeBron gave everything he had to pass Kareem and he’d prefer to just take the rest of the year off and not have to endure playoff pressure and expectations in a wide-open West. Hope I’m wrong about that. The Lakers could make a run if he’d suck it back up and recommit.
LeBron James solidified his name in the history books by breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record previously held by Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Another impressive achievement of James is that he’s ranked under 10 in multiple categories including points, assists, steals and threes made.
James speaks out on rumours surrounding return, shuts the media
LeBron James heard a pop in his right leg against the Dallas Mavericks on February 26. Although he finished the game, scans revealed that it was a tendon injury. It was initially reported that James would be returning to action for the final 3-4 games but his status remains unknown. James responded to speculations surrounding his return and stated “There wasn’t an evaluation today and there hasn’t been any target date for my return,” he tweeted. “I’m just working around the clock, every day (3X a day) to give myself (the) best chance of coming back full strength whenever that is. God bless y’all sources. I speak for myself!”
Prior to his injury, the 19-time All-Star was averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists in 47 games this season. The Lakers have made an impressive late-season turnaround post the all-star break and currently sit at the 10th seed with a 36-37 record. With a Play-in spot up for the grabs, the Lakers would expect James to return at full strength as soon as possible.
