On multiple occasions during the game, the Boston Celtics’ frontcourt of Jayson Tatum and Al Horford took advantage of their mismatch against Curry. The Boston Celtics hence took the victory against the Warriors in Game 3 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden in Boston.

The Celtics rode the energy of a rousing TD Garden crowd to finally overcome another third-quarter onslaught by Golden State in a 116-100 victory Wednesday night that gave them a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals. Jaylen Brown scored 27 point and Jayson Tatum added 26 in their victory over the Warriors. Marcus Smart scored 24 points and backed a defensive effort that limited the Warriors to 11 points in the fourth quarter, the third-lowest total in a finals game since the shot clock era. When asked about Steph Curry limping by the end of the game after Al Horford landed on his lower left leg, frantically searching for a lost ball, Steve Kerr stated, “We’ll know more tomorrow.”

Here’s what Skip Bayless had to say about Stephen Curry’s performance on Twitter: “Steph Curry is just getting hunted and abused on defense. Hard to watch. All-time Top 10???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????”. The Golden State Warriors struggled to keep up with the Boston Celtics’ superior athleticism and size in general as  the Celtics outscored and outrebounded the Warriors in the paint, giving them a significant advantage. For the most part, Steph Curry has been outstanding on defense in this series, but that wasn’t the case in Game 3. He picked up three fouls in the first half alone, preventing him from playing aggressive defense.

Under Stephen Curry’s brilliance, the Golden State Warriors fought hard and produced another third-quarter comeback. Curry scored 15 points in that span, hitting four of five 3-point attempts and five of eight total which included an unbelievable four-point play Against Al Horford. Curry led the Golden State Warriors with 31 points, shooting 12 of 22 from the field, including six of 11 from 3-point range.
