Patrick Beverley might not be a part of the playoffs banter on the court, but he surely was able to secure the headlines with his harsh words against Chris Paul after the Suns were brutally thrown out of the playoffs by Dallas Mavericks. While both CP3 and Pat Bev haven’t like one another since their college days, and the latest rant by Minnesota Timberwolves guard showcased just the same.
However, with stars like Matt Barnes and Damian Lillard coming out to criticize Patrick Beverley for his choice of words. On the other hand, sports media personality, Skip Bayless went out to point out the positive light in Beverley’s condemning Chris Paul. Moreover, Bayless went onto suggest that the Timberwolves guard could have a potential career as an NBA analyst.
Skip Bayless on Patrick Beverley
Speaking recently on “Undisputed,” Skip Bayless went on to suggest that Patrick Beverley has a future as an analyst, but he believes the comments from the NBA veteran toward Paul were a “bit personal.”
“I think he was obviously auditioning for a potential second career, and I think he’s got a real shot at being an analyst because he is extremely outspoken, and he’s very smart about basketball…It did come across as a little bit personal because you need to frame it with some respect for Chris’s career.”
Bayless has always been a peculiar analyst whose opinions are frowned upon players. Perhaps that could be a reason why he is able to understand Beverley’s harsh words upon Point God in such depth.
Chris Paul’s Phoenix Suns were one of the best defensive teams in the league throughout the regular season. Bayless urged that Patrick Beverley mainly concentrated his take upon CP3’s struggle on the offensive end. That being said, now with Suns out, all eyes will be on Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks’ Western Conference Final series. And who among these two teams will draw first blood as the battle commences from Thursday.
