“What if Luka Doncic and company carry this momentum?” Skip Bayless has reservations over Stephen Curry, Warriors after Mavs secured first win in WC Finals

Western Conference Finals extends at least till game 5 as Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks won game 4 against the mighty Stephen Curry led Warriors. As a result of which Skip Bayless became pessimistic about Stephen Curry, Warriors and looks at things changing a bit if the Mavs play with the same intensity.

Luka Doncic led Dallas Mavericks yet again, but this time to the win against Golden State Warriors. He has been consistent in the postseason, yet the outcome of the games was hugely affected by other stars’ performances in the game. Dorian Finney-Smith provided offensive support and the whole team defended well to snatch an important win in game-4, and this gives Skip Bayless a glimpse of a positive attitude in the Mavs camp.

Skip explained that if Dallas carries this momentum in game 5 and manages to win the same, it would be difficult for Golden State Warriors as they will be under huge pressure and might end up throwing away the 3-0 lead.

Golden State Warriors were at the pole position to wrap up the Western Conference Finals, with probably the winning formula that worked in the last 3 games. But Dallas Mavericks were not letting the series end so easily and gave a tough fight in Game-4, winning it in the end with a 119-109 score.

Though the scoreline may not indicate the fight the Mavs had to put in to grab the precious “W” in the series or even the dominance they had for the first 3 quarters in the game; it was a clear indication of their desire to keep fighting for the championship.

Skip Bayless noted this point, giving Dallas slightly better winning chances than previous discussions. Bayless explained the reason as he said“My percentage chances are way higher than yours (Shannon Sharp’s) but it’s not so much about Luka And Company, my reservations are always about Golden State.”

Carrying his point forward he further added, “I’m not sure about this year’s Golden State. I wasn’t sure about the 2016 Warriors without Durant. Steph has not been Steph, he’s been strangely missing free throws.”

Skip even pointed out the similarity NOW, between 2016 runners-up Golden State Warriors and current Golden State Warriors as, the series is locked at 3-1, Golden State Warriors has home-court advantage, and he said that Draymond Green might even end up getting suspended for Game-6 in Dallas, which could be a heavy blow for the Warrior’s chances.

70-years old experienced analyst even talked about the Memphis Grizzlies’ chances of winning the series against this Warriors team – had Ja Morant been healthy and Dillon Brooks playing in all the games (he was suspended in 2 games); the results might have been different.

Skip hugely looks at game-5 as the key game in the series, and Steph’s sudden drop in form causes trouble for the Warriors. Well, this surely could be an alarming sound for Stephen Curry and the Warriors who are looking for their 6th appearance in NBA Finals, in the last 8 seasons.
