Skip Bayless is back in the NBA headlines and unexpectedly this time he has fired a shot against his favorite players’ team. And, like always being the biggest LeBron James hater he also has thrown some shade towards the King and the Los Angeles Lakers. But this time his take is very important for the basketball world as he has brought a crucial topic to the light. That’s not something you expect Skip Bayless to do.
Skip Bayless has pointed out the Brooklyn Nets when the internet was totally focused on the Los Angeles Lakers. Both the teams have power-packed rosters and the talent they have gathered is capable of landing them a championship. But unfortunately, the reality is very disappointing as both of them are down and still finding their ways. Skip Bayless tweeted out about the Nets and brought them in to the same or even worse conversation that the Lakers are a part of.
Recently, both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets both fell short with the score being 110-99. The Nets lost to the Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee Bucks and the Lakers lost to the Nikola Jokic led Denver Nuggets. But for some reason, the basketball fans were just focused on the Hollywood team. But Skip Bayless didn’t let it slide as he made the picture very clear via a tweet from his personal Twitter handle.
Skip Bayless in the tweet wrote: “The Nets have gone colder than the Lakers.” And, yeah the analyst isn’t wrong in saying that. And, adding to it let’s also not forget that the Nets are also not able to sell any good tickets so far this season. While the Los Angeles Lakers still have a lot of loyal fans rooting for their success. But the city of New York has probably given up on the Nets.
Are the Nets really worse than the Lakers as suggested by Skip Bayless?
As said by Skip Bayless the Nets have really gone colder than the Lakers. The Lakers have most of their stars injured or not at full strength. And, also have no shooters or great ball handlers and are also running down on the side of chemistry with trust issues and active trade talks. As the future of their BIG 3 is very uncertain.
Even though the Nets also have some issues on their roster their overall condition is a lot better than the Lakers. But still, they are just 1-3 compared to the 0-4 record of the Lakers. Also, they have a healthy Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving so there shouldn’t really be an excuse here. Even though Ben Simmons is struggling at the moment they have a solid bench to back them up. But still, they aren’t able to win.
So Skip Bayless calling out the team to be colder than the struggling Lakers is very right. The Nets now would be facing the Luka Doncic led Dallas Mavericks in some hours. And, everyone around just hopes that they are able to find their ways before the match-up. As the Mavs aren’t an easy team to win against.
