Skip Bayless has totally destroyed Stephen A. Smith’s take of him leaving First Take for Fox Sports and how he got him in the job. As in a monologue of his at his podcast “The Skip Bayless Show”, he revealed the reason behind him leaving First Take to join Fox Sports. The online feud between them where even Kevin Durant was enjoying the back and forth exchanges now may finally come to an end but you never know when Stephen A. Smith strikes back with another claim of his. As of now, he has shown emotions for the fire back by the host at “Undisputed” as he respects him but you never know when the story changes.
Stephen A. Smith recently appeared on “The Old Man and The Three” podcast alongside JJ Redick. During his time there he opened up about his relationship with Skip Bayless and mentioning how he made it to the First Take said: “Skip Bayless comes to me in a parking lot… He says, ‘I know you’ve got your plans, you love the NBA, you love being out on the road, you love being in the locker room. But I need you. I’ve done all that I could do to take this as far as I could go, I need you to do this for me, please.’… I thought about it took my time and those were clearly my best options. They weren’t about to give me my own show or anything like that at the time… Alright I’ll do it. One month later we were number one and we have been number one ever since.”
Stephen A. also mentioned the reason of him leaving the show and said: “Never. The only time anything came close to that was when I knew he was leaving before he told me, so I confronted him… When he confessed to me what had transpired between his negotiations with the company, I understood why he couldn’t tell me in the immediate moment.” According to him the reason for the break-apart of the duo was the negotiations with ESPN and how they weren’t met.
But Skip has totally denied it all and even disrespected Stephen A. Smith for his false take as he said: “What! I can not tell you how wrong that was. It was so recklessly inaccurate. It was such shocking fabrication… How could my brother Stephen A. turn on me like that how could he seriously?… Stephen A. was suggesting that he saved and then made First Take. How can you save and make a show that was already as big a billion-to-one success story as ESPN had ever seen? The ratings and the revenues were impossibly great when Stephen A. joined me in 2012.”
Further throwing some dirt on Stephen A. Skip Bayless added: “With Stephen A. As my partner, First Take would never touch the NFL Monday ratings it hit in 2011…and I had taken First Take as far as I could? Seriously? I was just getting started…Stephen A., how dare you?” Skip is really mad at Stephen A. Has according to him his words are all wrong and false. But Stephen A. Smith replying to him via a tweet said that he isn’t lying and he has got it all wrong as he respects him for everything he has. But Skip Bayless has remained firm on his words and thoughts. As recently he backed everything said by him so far by revealing the reason he left First Take for Fox Sports.

Skip after criticizing and appreciating Stephen A. Smith while discussing the whole situation finally revealed the reason behind him leaving First Take for Fox Sports. Revealing the reason he quoted: “So for Stephen A. to suggest that he saved and made the First Take is just an insult just not only to me but to everyone behind the scene. All the courageous brain power behind the scenes at First Take in 2011…I am talking about Jamie Horowitz I’m talking about Charlie Dixon I’m talking about Wit Album. Those three who made such a difference in my life by 2016 had come here to try to build FS1… their message to me in 2016 as my contract was up was ‘we are not going to make it here unless you come and help us’… I owe them for the opportunity they gave me in 2011…yes the money was good.”
If Skip Bayless is correct with his take then Stephen A. Smith has messed up big time and will be hunted down for it by the media. But still many believe it’s not the end and the exchanges will continue as they are enjoying it. Now everyone around is waiting for Stephen A. Smith to come out with a reply or a public apology.
