“Bron was a solo act, DWade was a team act” Skip Bayless reveals how LeBron James would have never reached the same level if it wasn’t for Dwyane Wade

LeBron Jamesand Dwayne Wade
LeBron James was a clear-cut number one overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. He was a very impressive high school athlete earning him endorsements and magazine features at a very tender age of 18. There was no doubt after his first season that he would transition into the face of the league at some point in his career and that is exactly what happened.

During the draft that had LeBron enter the league, it featured some of the biggest talents to have ever set foot on the court. For example, Dwyane Wade of the championship-worthy Miami Heat. Despite his companion’s dominance, Wade was surrounded by a good cast of players and also embodied severe leadership qualities. Eventually, it earned him a title during the 2006 NBA finals along with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.
Dwyane Wade’s lingering injuries cost him a possible GOAT label

Unlike LeBron James, the Heat superstar had a career-long issue with injuries that got the best of him towards the end. Wade’s knees were always a problem that made him suffer throughout his career. Following the back-to-back title run in 2012 and 2013, his condition worsened over time.

The player would often complain about bone bruises, and tendinitis and also developed chondromalacia under his kneecap which constricted him from taking much movement. The player would call it quits after 16 seasons because he did not want to risk having further complications in the future. Wade served most of his career with the Heat but also played alongside his compadre in Cleveland and with the Chicago Bulls.
Skip Bayless chooses who he thought was supposed to be drafted number one overall in 2003

Skip Bayless has been a close follower of LeBron James which also included a number of seasons with D-Wade. The analyst has a segment on his own show where he would answer fan questions. One fan asked, “Would you have drafted LeBron with the first pick in the 2003 draft? Or D-Wade?” Bayless would explain the careers of both legends saying that LBJ was better at longevity than his best friend but the other had more experience with leading a team through a championship run.
As he would put it, the Heat shooting guard was not reliable in the long term and felt that his career started to decline after LeBron joined him. “Tim Grover helped keep Dwyane afloat. He was never really into taking care of himself quite the way LeBron has been. But I don’t think LeBron would have LeBron without Dwyane, without his guidance. He showed him (LeBron) the ropes,” said Bayless. However, the only reason that kept the personality from choosing the latter was that Bron had better physical endurance which has given him the upper hand.
