“He has revolutionised the game but it is not enough to put in the Top 10 list” Skip Bayless says Stephen Curry has too much missing to compete against Basketball’s Greatest Ever

“He has revolutionised the game but it is not enough to put in the Top 10 list” Skip Bayless says Stephen Curry has too much missing to compete against Basketball’s Greatest Ever

Skip Bayless doesn't consider Steph Curry to be a Top 10 player

Skip Bayless has gone on his regular hunt of superstars, only this time , Stephen Curry is on his radar. Golden State Warriors won the Western Conference Title and made it into the NBA finals for the 6th time with a similar core in the last eight seasons. Stephen Curry leading from the front won the inaugural WC Finals MVP award named after great Magic Johnson. Stephen Curry has been godlike throughout the postseason he even showcased his heroics and greatness coming off the bench and doing the most damage, making it to his 6th NBA Final, however Skip Bayless still feels his ‘resume’ is bleak.

Dallas Mavericks did win game 4 at home, extending the conference finals series for 1 game at least. But the Warriors didn’t waste an opportunity to close the series in front of their home fans as Klay Thompson fired on all cylinders and Stephen Curry was phenomenal in the Conference Finals. The Golden State Warriors are heading back to the NBA Finals for the sixth time in eight seasons. They punched their ticket on Thursday night with a comfortable 120-110 win over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals to win the series, 4-1.

Klay Thompson turned back the clock with his best game of the series, pouring in eight 3-pointers and 32 points to lead the way. Six different Warriors scored in double figures, including Andrew Wiggins, who went for 18 points and 10 rebounds in another strong performance. The Warriors also shot the ball well from downtown, going 14 of 36. Luka Doncic got off to a rough start, but caught fire in the third quarter to lead the Mavericks’ comeback attempt. He finished with 28 points, nine rebounds and six assists in defeat. Spencer Dinwiddie also added 26 points off the bench.

“There’s too much missing from Steph’s resume” – Skip Bayless on Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry has won it all and stamped himself as one of the most decorated players in the league. He has entered his 6th NBA Finals, while being a 3-time Champion and 2-time MVP in the NBA. These stats are staggering for the ‘Baby Faced Assassin”, however Skip Bayless believes he still has a lot to achieve to be a Top 10 Player Of All Time in the NBA. He even sounded off about Steph winning the inaugural Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP award. Bayless took to Twitter to express his thoughts regarding this –

Recently, Skip Bayless referred to the 2016 NBA Finals, as one of the two ‘superstar meltdowns’ that he has seen in the NBA. One of them was when Warriors were 3-1 up in the NBA Finals in 2016, and infamously squandered the lead which led to Lebron James winning the Championship. Skip has been always critical of Steph’s performances in big games, and has questioned his greatness when he fails to put up outrageous numbers in such games.

In the recent episode of “Undisputed: Skip and Shannon”, Skip slammed Steph –

“Steph was not to be found, That’s a meltdown. We have seen two superstar meltdowns in the finals and I rank them 1 and 2. And the first one was your man LeBron James. It was his first go around with the Miami Heat versus the Dallas Mavericks in 2011, where the ‘Chosen One’ became ‘Frozen One’. “But now we’re talking about the second worst one that I ever witnessed … LeBron is down 3 games to 1, and Steph Curry comes up even smaller than he is at 6’3.”

On the show Shannon Sharpe believed considered that winning the Finals MVP award will put him at the “Mount Rushmore” of the NBA World, Shannon said, “He will be one of six players to have two regular season MVPs, four titles and a Finals MVP, joining (Michael) Jordan, LeBron (James), Magic(Johnson) and (Tim) Duncan. And we believe Jordan, LeBron, Magic and Duncan are on Mount Rushmore. He would join that group. A very, very elite group.”

Skip Bayless’s comments do nothing to Curry’s legacy, as one of the best payers to grace the game. Stephen Curry won 3 NBA Championships but was never finals MVP. A deserving star would be ecstatic with the possibility of winning that individual honor and 4th title. We might witness history in the coming days, as the Greatest Shooter of All-Time steps on the biggest stage of the NBA to leave his eternal mark.
