“Compared to Games 1 & 2 Jimmy looked more like Alfred the Butler” Skip Bayless shows no mercy towards Jimmy Butler after Game 5 choke-job

Skip Bayless and Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler and Miami Heat failed to deliver at home once again as Boston Celtics snatched the defensive game-5 and have gone onto lead the EC Final series 3-2. As a result of which Skip Bayless ruthlessly thrashed superstar Jimmy Butler for his poor performance in the game.

Boston Celtics got their complete starting line-up back on the court, and they delivered what coach Ime Udoka asked for. A perfect defensive show limited both teams below 100 points, but it was Celtics who remained force throughout the game and grabbed a 93-80 point victory over the home team. Jimmy butler failed miserably in the important game, scoring just 13 points in 40 minutes of game time. Skip Bayless targeted Jimmy for his below-par shooting performance, mocking him as “Alfred the Butler”.

Skip referred to the famous Butler character named Alfred from the Batman series. Though he is important in the superhero series, it is always Batman who delivers for the Gotham City. Similarly, Jimmy is very important – like Batman for the team, but played the role of Alfred in recent games.

There is no secret that Marquee star Jimmy Butler carries most of the offensive load for the Miami Heat. In games 1 and 2, Butler nearly single-handedly scored 1/3rd of the team total. He was thriving again in the 3rd game, scoring 16 points in the 1st half, but didn’t return in the 2nd half cause of knee inflammation.

After scoring 41 points, 29 points, and 16 points in 1st two and a half games of the series, many hopes were on Jimmy to deliver similar performances in the remaining series. But he couldn’t repeat the same productions on the court.

Skip Bayless is shrewd as always and fires a shot at Jimmy Butler for yet another disappointing performance. 6-time all-star was 22.2% from the field and his inefficiency meant that the Heat lost Game 5 of the series. Former sports columnist took to Twitter to express his thoughts on Butler’s performance, as he wrote: “Right now, compared to Games 1 & 2, Jimmy Butler looks more like Alfred the Butler.”  He already had put Jimmy in a bad light for game-4 performance, and game-5 failure topped it all.

2015 improved player of the year, couldn’t improve on his Game 4 performance, where he scored only 6 points playing 27 minutes on the game and shooting 10 from 40 in last 3 games. Sadly for Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler, no other player came up strong for a win – except for Bam Adebayo who won Game 3 for them.

After trailing 3-2 in the series, the Miami Heat will travel to Boston for a possibly decisive game of the series. If Butler and Adebayo failed again it could be a sad ending for the top-seeded Eastern conference team as TD Garden proved to be the toughest arena to conquer for many teams, even in the past.
