The Los Angeles Lakers have seen their fortunes turn around of late, with impressive performances resulting in wins that keep them in contention for a place in the postseason. Last night’s 120-109 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves was a testament to their resurgence.

The Lakers closed out the week by beating the West’s No. 2 team in the Timberwolves. This came after they defeated the West’s No. 1 team, the Oklahoma City Thunder as well as the East’s No. 2 team, the Milwaukee Bucks with a loss to the West’s No. 7 (SAC) mixed in. The win against the Bucks was most impressive because it showed the strength in depth of the Lakers roster.

These impressive performances led to veteran FS1 analyst Skip Bayless to quip in his take, who once again used his platform to praise the Lakers just as he did when the Lakers conquered the OKC Thunder. He spoke about his newfound love for the Purple and Gold, most especially the impact of players such as D’Angelo Russell’s 40+ point performance, and Spencer Dinwiddie’s late block on Dame Lillard all showcasing the Laker’s strength in depth.

You’re looking at arguably the deepest team in the West. And are they better than Denver? I don't know.

The Lakers have been the second-best offense in the NBA since the beginning of February, all thanks to their depth that includes record-making Anthony Davis, the hottest White boy in the league, Austin Reaves, and with reports that Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent are expected to return to the Lakers in the next 2 weeks. Maybe it’s time to get worried about the Lakers.

Skip Bayless still not hyped about LeBron James

LeBron James has paid his dues in full and is considered by many to be one of if not the greatest basketball players of all time. From setting and breaking numerous records, the evidence speaks for itself.

However, Skip Bayless isn’t freaked about all that. Some might say he has a vendetta against Bron but Bayless is just being Bayless (no pun intended). He took to X to reemphasize where he ranks James in his all-time greats lists.

Before 40,000 points I had LeBron ninth on my all-time list. After 40,000 points, I still have LeBron ninth on my all-time list. Because playing longer does not make you better or more valuable. I'm sorry, LeBron James is not better than Larry Bird, who I have at eight, one notch ahead of him.

While Skip Bayless’ comments will continue to spark heated debates, one thing is certain, LeBron James is ‘King’. There’s still fuel in the 39-year-old’s engine, as evident in the frequent burst of scoring from him.
