Stephen Curry vs The Celtics

Stephen Curry buried all doubts upon his clutch/leadership abilities as he once again produced a mammoth game only to secure Golden State Warriors’ 4th NBA title in last 8 years. In the process he even went onto win his first ever NBA Finals MVP accolade. But even then sports media personality Skip Bayless is determined about some of his takes on the 3-point king.

Bayless had earlier suggested that Curry was only able to get past LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers, because he had the likes of Kevin Durant by his side. Now when Curry has himself led the Dub Nation, Bayless urged how it is Boston Celtics, who handed the Chef with another round of trophies in his cabinet than anything else.

Bayless tweeted; “Steph needed Kevin Durant to lift him past LeBron… but the Celtics literally handed him these two trophies.”

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors beat LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals without Kevin Durant. The Cavs, however, didn’t have Kevin Love for the entire series and only had Kyrie Irving in Game 1. Without his sidekicks, “King James” didn’t have enough ammunition to beat Steve Kerr’s Warriors.

But Bayless does make a strong point and certainly those who witnessed the continuous NBA Finals battle between Cavs and Warriors would understand his point. With KD in tow, the Cleveland Cavaliers just didn’t have enough firepower to hold off Steph Curry and the Warriors. In this context, Skip Bayless would relentlessly criticize the Warriors’ franchise player.

That being said, that wasn’t the case when the Warriors contested this time around against the Boston Celtics in the finale showdown. Does Bayless’ opinion hold still in deep water?

But for now, big congratulations go out to Stephen Curry and Warriors for clinching their place at the top of the league by beating comfortably beating Celtics in a 6-Game series.
