NBA analyst Skip Bayless praised Los Angeles Lakers Patrick Beverley for his courageous act of protecting his teammate. He pushed Phoenix Suns DeAndre Ayton to the floor after he was trying to go behind Austin Reeves. Even the Lakers management has applauded Patrick for supporting Austin.

Skip Bayless tweeted about this incident saying, “I obviously don’t condone violence on the basketball court, but I don’t hate the way Pat Bev defended Austin Reaves by bumping down Ayton, who was standing over Reaves taunting him AFTER Booker smashed Reaves in the face on a follow-through foul and stood over him. Yes, sir, PB.” Patrick Beverley was handed a technical foul and was ejected for such behavior.

After the game, when Pat was asked about his actions, he said, “Got a person on the ground, two people looking over mean-mugging and puffing their chest out, and referees don’t get into it to kind of separate it, control the game, so I’m going to stand up for my teammate.”

Pat added, “Obviously, it’s unfortunate that it happened on national TV. But you know me: Regardless of what’s going on, I’m a big fan of protecting my teammates. … I’m a foxhole guy. I put on the jersey, and I commit to a team, I commit to a city, and it’s kind of my motto. I’m a foxhole guy.”

The Suns registered a comprehensive win, thumping the LA Lakers 115-105. Mikal Bridges and Devin Booker each scored 25 points to add to the team’s total. The Suns were left without the services of Chris Paul as he missed his seventh straight game.

LA Lakers’ Anthony Davis nailed 37 points, 21 rebounds, and five blocked shots as NBA legend LeBron James missed his fifth straight game, nursing a left adductor strain. Pat Beverley got ejected from the game when he pushed DeAndre Ayton, who was about to get over Austin Reaves. This happened in the last few mins of the game.

Pat got support from his head coach Darvin Ham, who stated that he was not mad at Pat for defending his teammate, but he will face some consequences. He also added that the NBA teams around should know they can’t just push his team around. The LA Lakers take on the San Antonio Spurs next, while the Phoenix Suns will look to continue their winning form against the Detroit Pistons.
