“Did he hit South Beach at halftime of tonight’s Game 1 in Miami?” Skip Bayless takes scathing dig at James Harden for ‘flop-outing’ against Heat in Game 1

James Harden had a shot at redemption, with Joel Embiid knocked out for at least a week, it was his time to thrive in the ‘Heat’. If only that were true! James Harden looked far from convincing in Game 1 vs the Miami Heat, scoring just 16 points grabbing 9 rebounds, while dishing out 4 assists and committing 5 turnovers. Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless lashed out at James Harden’s inferior second-half performance.

The 29-year old power forward, Tobias Harris led the scoring for Philadelphia with 27 points, with sophomore guard Tyrese Maxey producing a 19-point outing. The Philadelphia 76ers struggled heavily offensively, with the lack of Embiid. They made only 34 field goals on the night, with just six 3-pointers to go along with 14 turnovers that led to them conceding 22 points.

The 76ers were without Joel Embiid, the MVP finalist who isn’t even in Miami while recovering from an orbital fracture and concussion injuries suffered in Philadelphia’s first-round-clinching win at Toronto. And as would be expected, he was missed by the Philadelphia 76ers.
“I didn’t like how we moved the ball, I thought we passed late tonight. I thought the physicality affected us tonight and that had an impact. There were too many times, we’d take the extra dribble and by the time we passed it they got there.” The 76ers coach Doc Rivers said, as he tries to rally his players and get his strategies right for Game 2.
“James Harden was nowhere to be seen after Halftime”

“Did James Harden hit South Beach at halftime of tonight’s Game 1 in Miami? I couldn’t find him in the second half.” Skip took a dig at Harden’s performance in the 2nd half of the game where he could only manage 4 points while flailing his arms restlessly for fouls. He took to twitter to portray his disappointment with The Beard’s performance.
James Harden’s role has drastically changed since his move to the Sixers, and he has adjusted well to that role. The expectations in the playoffs are to take it one step further, bringing the best out of yourself, especially if your best player is injured. Everyone expected the former MVP and scoring champ to shed his poor form and get in the groove in Game 1 but that wasn’t the case. We witnessed was choke where Harden couldn’t get going himself, nor get his teammates involved.

“I mean you’ve got Tobias you got Tyrese and you you have a squad hat’s been pretty good this year.” Skip Bayless backed the 76ers squad, brimming with talent on the talk-show, ‘Undisputed: Skip and Shannon’. It was a night to forget for 76ers as they hope to bounce back in Game 2, with eyes on Joel Embiid’s return.
