“He just loves to perfect his craft but winning isn’t in the equation” Skip Bayless urges Kevin Durant no longer contains the ‘competitive psyche’
Kevin Durant and Skip Bayless
Brooklyn Nets’ worst nightmares have finally come to reality as Kevin Durant led team has finally been clean swept by the resilient and in-form Boston Celtics. Having lost Game 1 on a buzzer beater, the Celtics kept on getting better and it seems the 2014 MVP has certainly agreed to face the hurtful reality and look forward. However, knowing how much Skip Bayless appreciates KD, the former couldn’t let go off the particular 4-0 loss with that ease.
On the latest episode of Undisputed along with co-host Shannon Sharpe, Skip Bayless discussed the recently concluded Celtics vs Nets first round series. On the same note, he decided to opinionate upon Kevin Durant and thrashed him for accepting this brutal loss with open arms rather than being fiery. What came next? Take a look yourself.
Was Kevin Durant to blame for Nets’ first-round exit?
The 70-year-old sports media personality started by stating, “As wildly gifted as KD is, I’m no longer sure about his competitive psyche. He just loves to perfect his craft, but winning isn’t in the equation.”
Bayless then went onto contemplate on how Kevin Durant can take this brutal loss with such ease, rather than being fired up. Moreover, Bayless was astonished to see hoe Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant met Celtics’ players and the team members after they were clean swept at home.
“Somewhere Michael Jordan is rolling his eyes. These wildly gifted players in KD and Kyrie weren’t at all upset last night.”
Given that Skip wanted Kevin Durant to lead the Nets further in the playoffs, he is surely one among the many fans who are left disheartened. But as things stand, it is the Celtics who will face the winner of Milwaukee Bucks vs Chicago Bulls’ first-round series.
Lastly, it will be interesting to see what changes does the Brooklyn management make in order to fill the voids surrounding Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving as they launch another championship with full venom in the 2022-23 season. But for now, they join LeBron James and other veterans to watch the playoff action.
