Rap legend Snoop Dogg is a long-time Los Angeles Lakers fan. He has a very good relationship with members of the Buss family, the owners of the franchise. He has been pictured speaking with Jeanie Buss on several occasions. So naturally, the rapper is bound to be unhappy with the way the Lakers have been playing this season.

Snoop Dogg was a guest in a recent episode of All The Smoke podcast, hosted on YouTube. Host Stephen Jackson asked the rapper about the honest advice he would give to Jeannie Buss regarding the state of the Lakers. He had this to say;

Jeanie, this is gonna hurt me more than it'll hurt you. We're gonna have to move some furniture...some big pieces of furniture...Get us some young guns out there.

Snoop Dogg clarified that he was not talking about superstar LeBron James. He was alluding to the other younger players on the roster. According to him, the young players are not proving their money’s worth. The Lakers, according to the rapper, need young players who have the ‘Dog’ in them.

Snoop Dogg was referring to the notion that the Lakers tend to freeze when they face young superstars of the league. They are able to handle their business against the veterans, but seem to struggle when younger, faster players go against them. He also mentioned that consistency needs to be mandatory.

Snoop Dogg has seen both sides of the Lakers game throughout the season. He has seen the Lakers’ big two comprising of James and Anthony Davis play at an elite level. But the Lakers have lost games due to the unreliable support from the younger players. So when James or Davis have to rest, the game seemingly goes out of their hands.

What the Lakers need to do to turn their season around

The Los Angeles Lakers have struggled all season long. They are currently just in the play-in spots with a 23-23 even record. But the Lakers made several moves in the off-season to vie for another championship. Currently, that looks like a lofty dream with the way the squad is playing. Inconsistent production from the younger players has been a huge factor.

Many analysts and fans have claimed that the Lakers need another All-Star to help balance the load. Having another player producing 20-25 points a night will certainly help manage the minutes their two superstars are currently playing. After all, the goal is to keep James and Davis fresh for the playoffs. So far, that has not been the case.

Hopefully, Snoop Dogg’s suggestions are heard by his friend Jeannie Buss. After all, as a die-hard Lakers fan, he wants nothing more than another championship.
