Gregg Popovich, San Antonio Spurs head coach just ripped apart the American politicians for not doing anything regarding the gun sale policy even after many tragic incidents which took away the lives of many innocents. Recently, 19 children and two teachers were killed during a school shooting as an 18-year-old boy rushed in and opened fire killing everyone he saw at Robb Elementary School, Uvalde, Texas, United States of America. LeBron James, Steve Kerr, Stephen Curry, Gabe Kapler (who has also started a peaceful protest of not attending the national anthem) and many others have addressed the issue and called out the system for not handling it well. Now even Gregg Popovich, who has always been real and true to his roots has even called out the politicians and was very upset with them and their false promises.
Gun control is really necessary for the States and many around the country are stepping up for it and want the politicians to force a change for reform and betterment of the country. As it creates a threat to the lives of the younger generation as they pay the price. This really is high time for the country as innocents aren’t supposed to die in open fires started by someone who shouldn’t even be around arms but due to the policy can own one or multiple. The 73-year-old Gregg Popovich was a speaker at “Stand with Uvalde”, a fundraiser and community gathering organized after the tragic event which took away 21 innocent lives who were at the safest place a school.
Gregg Popovich in his speech expressed his anger, sadness, disappointment, and frustration with the politicians. He was also welcoming controversies as he openly fired some well-deserved shots at politicians by their name for not doing their job correctly and just misusing their powers. He just used the platform he had on Saturday very correctly as he demanded a change while pleading for action against the sale of guns which are most of the time responsible for many deaths around the whole nation.

Gregg Popovich addressing the situation quoted: “Get them in the room and say how many will it take? A massacre a month? Two massacres a week? 15 kids? 24 kids? When we kill 74 sometimes then you’ll do something? Get off your a**. Do something. They work for us. The majority of us want them to do something about the gun laws and they don’t do it because they care more about their power, and their position, and their money than they do for our children. If this happens to one of their children or grandchildren, do you think they’ll pay more attention? That’s an ugly thought. We hope nothing like that happens but we are all built that way…”
Gregg Popovich just didn’t stop there he also criticized the politicians for their false promises and actions of visiting the victims and giving them hope. He also mentioned voting is important but a change is also necessary. The clip of his time as a speaker at the social gathering is all over the internet and once again the most loved head coach of the league won hearts all over the world.
