There’s no doubting Stephen Curry‘s greatness on a basketball court. The NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers made has achieved almost every possible accolade there is in the NBA, be it winning 4 Championships, 2 MVP awards, 1 Finals MVP award, the Scoring Title and so much more. And now, he might just have found himself an alternate career option.

While basketball is his first love, Curry has a deep affection for another sport – Golf, and he is pretty darn good at it too. He is competing at the American Century Championship currently, where he incredibly scored a hole-in-one from 152 yards away. When asked about what has gone into his game in the last couple of months and why is he playing so well, Curry was at his humorous best. He said, “Losing to the Lakers, I had an early start on Tahoe prep, that’s it.”

The Golden State Warriors faced off against the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2023 Western Conference Playoffs and it was a thrilling series, to say the least. Curry went head-to-head with arch-rival LeBron James, who got the better of him with the Lakers winning the series 4-2. An early exit in the playoffs is not something that Curry and the Warriors are accustomed to considering how they’ve made winning championships a habit, nonetheless, it gave Curry time to work on his golf game and it is paying major dividends.

Not surprisingly, there was a hoop set up on the golf course, right behind where fans were standing and cheering for Curry. A fan tossed Curry a basketball and he drained the shot on his very first attempt. He also tried to shoot the ball without looking at the basket and almost made that shot too, thereby proving to fans all that he is human indeed.

One thing that Curry and the great Michael Jordan share in common, apart from being terrific basketball players, is their love for golf. The two had the opportunity to sit down and have a conversation during the 2021 Ryder Cup in which they spoke about the similarities between golf and basketball, how golf is the toughest mental sport, and a lot more.

One thing that particularly stood out during their conversation was the subject of losing, with both players admitting that they hate to lose more than they love to win. I hate losing. I mean, it’s not even a question. But I do respect losing, because losing is a part of winning. You’re never going to just win. You’ve got to lose to win,” said Jordan.
