Stephen Curry has been undermined at every step of his career. Ever since his high school days, he was underrated due to his skinny frame until he proved everyone wrong. He won the MVP award and a championship in 2015, but he is still discredited because he couldn’t win the Finals MVP as his teammate Andre Iguodala won the accolade.

Steph has been continuously discredited after the 2016 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a dramatic fashion. After going 73-9 in the regular season, they lost to the Cavaliers after leading the series 3-1. Kevin Durant joined the 73-9 Warriors and won two back-to-back championships, with KD winning Finals MVP both times. Steph took on a lesser role in the team’s success, similar to Dwyane Wade when LeBron James joined him in Miami. However, he was criticized for being carried by Kevin Durant to two championships.

He silenced everyone when he won the title in 2022 and the much-awaited Finals MVP. His title run was discredited again by people. Colin Cowherd talked about how Steph has been discounted for his entire career. He said that his arch-rival LeBron James has an army that defends him whenever LeBron underperforms and said Steph has always been underrated and never given the respect he deserves.

He stated that if Steph had won the championship during the Bubble instead of LeBron, he wouldn’t have faced as much criticism as LeBron does for winning the championship. During this situation, Steph’s teammate, Draymond Green, found himself caught in the crossfire after being called out for playing both sides.

Draymond is currently signed with Klutch Sports, which is Rich Paul’s firm. He also recently signed a contract with the Golden State Warriors. He was criticized for not coming out and speaking in favor of Steph and for seemingly catering to LeBron James and Klutch Sports. In response, Draymond expressed his frustration on Twitter.
