Stephen A. Smith claims LeBron James is ‘slick’ by starting own podcast with ESPN colleague JJ Redick
No one expected King James to drop a podcast of his own.
Stephen A. Smith, LeBron James and JJ Redick
With a surge in new podcasts every other day, LeBron James has partnered with JJ Redick to launch his own talk show. The ‘Mind the Game’ podcast has already released its first episode. While Redick does have a podcast of his own, called ‘The Old Man and the Three’, he’ll also join James on the other show.
To have one of the greatest players of all time talk about the game is a podcast truly worth watching. This move by James came out of the blue, as fans wouldn’t have expected the ‘King’ to have a podcast of his own. Stephen A. Smith, on the other hand, was rather impressed by the idea of it. Not only that, but he went on to praise James for the same.
LeBron James was a little bit slick here too, brilliantly slick, I might add. Because he could've had that conversation on Uninterrupted. He could've been talking to Maverick Carter. He could've been talking to Rich Paul... But he chose to do this with JJ Redick... To have a voice like that, serves LeBron in a multitude of ways.Stephen A. Smith via ‘The Stephen A. Smith Show’
James and Redick are two experienced basketball players. Having a podcast of their own would be a dream come true for fans as well as the upcoming athletes. JJ Redick has been in the media industry for quite a while. His podcast has over a million subscribers on YouTube, while he is also active on ABC and ESPN.
LeBron James and JJ Redick’s podcast is already grabbing major attention
Two veterans talking strictly about basketball will be a great insight, especially for fans. While most of the fans only look out for the highlights, this podcast will dive deep into what goes behind it. LeBron James has had a career that’s heavily vast and fans cannot wait for him to share his favorite stories.
The amount of attention this podcast will receive will be extremely huge and critics will also dive deep into James’ said words. It’s only been a day since the first episode was released and the YouTube channel of the same podcast has already garnered over 100K subscribers.
It is only to wonder how often they will be releasing these podcast episodes. James is still in the middle of the season and has a few more seasons left in him. To see Redick and James put out weekly episodes would boost the podcast’s growth by far. It will be interesting to see what topics Redick and James dive into. For James’ fans, this podcast is surely an early Christmas present.
