“I would take Bron over anybody in the world” Stephen A. Smith emphasises how LeBron James is massively UNDERPAID even after $97 Million extension

Many buzzes were created when LeBron James agreed to a two-year extension with the Los Angeles Lakers worth a whopping $97.1 million. But Stephen A. Smith somehow believes that he is still underpaid. Talking on the ESPN channel, he said that the price Los Angeles Lakers signed him for is significantly less than his caliber, and they have signed him up cheaply. Well, this is a whole lot of fortune but again Stephen A. Smith isn’t wrong as we have got King James on the other end.

Stephen A. Smith quoted, “He’s grossly underpaid,” Smith said. “… $97 million over the next two years is a bargain. He is box office. He just finished averaging 30 a game. He is still a sensational basketball player. … He is underpaid. He deserves more money.” He also added, “There are 48 minutes per game, I take Lebron James for 46 of those minutes ahead of anybody in the world with the exception of Michael Jordan.”

We all know Smith is a renowned sports broadcaster, and many seem to have agreed with him on this point. LeBron is the pioneer of the game and has taken the sport to a whole new level, and Smith seemed to have considered this perspective to make a statement. Also, Bron is in the G.O.A.T conversation and every team in the league wants him and can be ready to throw in any amount. As just his addition into the roster can make any team a championship contender.

Even though the NBA great has only four championships to his name, he has made 10 NBA Finals appearances. His first trip to the final came in his season 4, but he was cleaned away by San Antonio Spurs in 2007.  After a challenging stage in his initial years with the Cleveland Cavaliers, James chose to join the Miami Heat. In the four years he spent with the team, they reached the finals four times and won two titles and his dominance in the East continued after his time with Miami. Upon his return to Cleveland, he made another four consecutive finals trips. However, LeBron’s time with the Lakers has not been as successful as with his previous teams. Although he led them to a championship in 2020, they have missed the playoffs twice and were eliminated in the first round in 2021.
