Recently, on the “I am Athlete” show, Stephen A. Smith made his appearance. The sports analyst spoke about his relationship with former Philadelphia 76ers player Allen Iverson. He said that Allen was the only player who was close to his heart. He wished that if things had been more intruding between those two, they would have shared a very different relation altogether.

Stephen A. Smith said, “I should have took off my reporter hat years before I actually did and been more invasive. Been more in his face because I was one of the people who could do that to him. And he would actually listen, you know what I’m saying. He knew other than a quote or story, I ain’t want nothing from him, you know. He further added, “And he’s come a long way, he’s so much better now. But so much that he went through in his life. Obviously, I can’t say whether I could have helped him…. But I think I could have been more of a big brother. I just got so much of love for him.”

Allen was one of the best players for Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA during the early 2000s. He led the 76ers to the finals against Los Angeles Lakers but ended on the loosing side. He was criticized for his ruthless attitude even after he was very talented. Still, he is considered to be the most loved player in the NBA league.

Luckily, he still has a contract with Reebok which includes a $32 million trust fund to be delivered at age 55, currently he is 47 years old. He isn’t bankrupt and still has got the bag as after the downfall he tried his best to step up and some of those efforts were effective and now everyone hopes that he doesn’t messes up again and lives the best life possible.
