After a very tough call, head coach of the Grizzlies called out Poole for being excessively physical during the game. The player’s actions were only a result of very hard defense and most of Golden State’s players felt the same as well. Jordan, who has also been a candidate for the MIP this season has never been a dirty player.

Stephen A Smith also spoke on the incident saying, “It was not a dirty play. In real time, look at how quick that play happened. You are trying to tell me that those were Jordan Poole’s intentions, that’s ridiculous.” Smith further said, “Some of those things that Ja Morant do, as much as we all ‘ooh and ahhh’ over it, it’s not good for his long-term career. When I see a young guy with knee injuries, I get worried.”
