ESPN star Stephen A. Smith gained a large following for his opinions on a variety of sporting events for his broadcasting career. Lately, he has launched “The Stephen A. Smith Show” on YouTube. He answers social media queries from viewers while he’s on the show, covering topics like politics, pop culture, sports, and entertainment. They occasionally ask him for advice on personal matters, to which he eagerly responds.

Popular account Ballsack Sports on X asked Smith a hilarious question. They asked if Stephen A. Smith would give up sex if it meant the New York Knicks could win the NBA title. The New York Knicks haven’t won since 1973, and Smith did not believe much about James Nolan. After careful thinking, Smith finally answered the question.

This is what Stephen A. Smith said on his show:

You're alluding to the most blasphemous words in history and that's celibacy. I can't function like that. That's going too far. Monogamy? No problem. Celibacy is another matter and to know that you're asking me to do it for the New York Knicks, you're asking me to do it for James Dolan. That ain't happening!

We know Stephen has been a huge fan of the Knicks since childhood. The last time the Knicks won the title, Smith was five years old. More than 50 years have passed since they last won. He has long suffered because of the Knicks’ numerous past failures, as have many other team fans.

Past and the present of Stephen A. Smith’s favorite team, New York Knicks

Stephen A. Smith has supported the New York Knicks his entire life. He has endured years of suffering because of the Knicks’ numerous past setbacks, as have many other fans. When Smith was a five-year-old child growing up in the Bronx, the Knicks had their last championship. After being without a championship for so long, people inevitably question the actual issue. But the answer never came.

The Knicks made it to the NBA Finals in 1994 and 1999, showing some success in the 1990s. They lost to the San Antonio Spurs in 1999 and the Houston Rockets in 1994. Throughout the decade, they also encountered Reggie Miller‘s Indiana Pacers, and Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. They only experienced drought after their two NBA titles in 1970 and 1973, and they are now the league’s chokers.

The Knicks have only recently shown a genuine potential to break through a drought that nobody ever anticipated would last this long. The rise of Jalen Brunson could help them in the long run. They could make huge trades in the upcoming season to establish themselves as a contender.

Recently, the Knicks defeated the Atlanta Hawks, their rivals, by a slim margin on Wednesday, 116-114. They are currently 0-1 in the In-Season Tournament and 6-5 this season. In their first-ever competition, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated them 110-105 on November 3. The future looks bright with Brunson as the point guard.
