“What the hell do you mean figures it out?” Stephen A. Smith slaps Celtics with brutal truth about Stephen Curry’s poor shooting display
Stephen A. Smith on Warriors
On the latest episode of First Take , Stephen A. Smith answered to all speculations about Boston Celtics figuring out how to defend Stephen Curry, as he blamed the luck of the team rather than the Celtic players for a low-scoring game.
Stephen Curry scored 43 points at TD Garden and makes the headlines for the game-4. Stephen Curry drew blanks from the range and scored “just” 16 points in the very next game, which also makes the headlines of the game. This is how impactful Stephen Curry’s performances are in the postseason. There are very few people who would doubt the influence Curry makes on the game, with or even without high scores. Many considered that Boston Celtics have figured out ways to stop the Warriors’ Marquee player, after 1 low-scoring game. But Stephen A Smith ridicules the assumptions and bets on Curry’s next performance.
NBA Analyst Smith has seen and studied many games before and based on his experience, he considers the game-5 performance by the 3-point star was mere “missed shots” than well-defended ones. He reminded everyone of the last game where Steph went crazy shooting nearly 50% from every place on the court.
Stephen A Smith believes that it’s idiotic to consider that the set defense for Stephen Curry is figured out
Stephen Curry is one of the best shooters in the NBA and stopping him is very vital in order to control any game. He can go off and score 40+ points at ease while averaging 25 points in his 13-season career. Curry has been on spot with his shooting and his long-range shooting just “awes” spectators. With more than 20K points in his bucket, 2-time scoring champion Curry never let go of any chance to add to them.
His 16-point game and more importantly 0-of-9 shooting from the range in game-5 of the 2022 NBA Finals caught many eyes in the Warriors’ win. Celtics fans would see it as defensive prowess from the top defending team of the season, but 54-ears old Sports analysts disagree with that.
Putting his views on Steph’s shooting Smith said, “He is the greatest shooter that the God has created. I have never seen anybody shooting ball like him. I am not worried about that (0-of-9 shooting night) at all. It happens.”
He said that Curry missed 4 open shots out of taken 9 three-pointers, but that is not a win for the Celtics’ defense, but hard luck for Steph. He commented on the Stephen Curry offense vs Boston Celtics defense as he said, “Here is the deal. Steph Curry had contested shots in the first four games of the NBA Finals, and he was doing what he is doing what, despite some of his shots were contested. So the point that I trying to make is that last night he just missed, but I didn’t see the Boston Celtics in terms of hand in front of face.”
Stephen A Smith would say that the amount of contested and uncontested shots was equal in all the games, and said that it won’t happen in game-6 and bet his pay-cheque over the same. We will have just a few hours to wait to experience the encounter again, as 3-time NBA Champions Warriors will take on Boson Celtics this Thursday night at TD Garden.
