“He’ll make sure he does his job” Stephen A. Smith urges how Draymond Green always perform when the pressure is on him

Draymond Green and Stephen A. Smith
The Golden State Warriors‘ Game 1 loss in the 2022 NBA Finals had a number of unpleasant outcomes. The terrible performance of Draymond Green, though, was the most upsetting. Green had an unproductive offense, scoring only four points. So, the day after the game, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith posed a challenging question about him on what kind of squad would this be if Green provided consistent shooting?

Draymond Green’s performance in Game 1

In Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Warriors had a lot of things going wrong as they blew a 15-point lead in the third quarter, and the Boston Celtics outscored them 40-16 in the fourth quarter to win 120-108. Draymond Green, the four-time NBA All-Star, on 2-of-12 shooting, had just four points and also failed to make any of his four three-point attempts.
The Warriors have many options, but the Celtics will continue to focus their defensive attention on Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Jordan Poole if Green continues missing shots. Green attempted nearly twice as many shots in Game 1 than he had on average in the playoffs, resulting in a dreadful shooting percentage.

Stephen A. Smith on Draymond Green

“All-world defensive player, orchestrator, your point forward, distributor of the basketball, basketball savant; could you imagine how lethal the Golden State Warriors would be if Draymond Green was a reliable perimeter shooter?” Smith said on the First Take. He advised Green, quoting: “It’s you. If you don’t do this, they gonna lose. I think that he’ll make sure he does his job , but he has to because Boston is daring him to do so.” Green has never been a prolific scorer in his career, but he must knock down open shots.
He’ll become a burden on the offense if he can’t make simple field-goal attempts. If the Warriors want to win this series, they’ll need Draymond Green from 2016.

Reverberation for Golden State Warriors in Game 2?
He can make baskets when he needed to, but he hasn’t done it much this playoffs. Green has scored in double figures in only eight of his 17 postseason appearances this season, therefore more from him is required if the Warriors are to win.
Green scored 16.5 points and hit 40.6 percent of his three-pointers in the 2016 NBA Finals, despite missing Game 5 due to a suspension. In Game 2, he had 28 points, and in Game 7, he had 32 points on six three-pointers.
