“KD and LeBron are both sitting at home but Stephen Curry, oh he’s just waking up!” Stephen A. Smith warns rest of the NBA about Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry and Stephen A. Smith

The 2021-22 season was the first time after a 2-year gap wherein Stephen curry joined forces with both Draymond Green and Klay Thompson on the court. With the Golden State Warriors looking to redeem their lost pride in the West, they surely look like one of the hottest-teams in the postseason, especially after their hefty beating of Denver Nuggets. Which made Stephen A. Smith warn the rest of the NBA.

On one hand where veterans like Kevin Durant and LeBron James could not even feature in the semi-final round, Stephen Curry seems to be carrying his Golden State warriors on his shoulders, in full-form. Something, which was also pointed out by sports media personality and analyst Stephen A. Smith on the latest episode of Stephen A’s World

While the Golden State Warriors were majorly struggling in the second half of the regular season due to their marquee stars being side-lined with respective injuries. Be it Draymond Green, Klay Thompson or Stephen Curry, all have seemed to join the party as soon as the postseason began.

“Kevin Durant and LeBron James are both sitting at home. KD is spending his time taking on all comers on Twitter, but Steph Curry, oh he’s just waking up.”

Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole

Smith surely has raised a valid point here, where teams like Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers were heavily bundled upon by the rest of the teams because of their same old-approach in the fast-paced 2021-22 season, Golden State Warriors were benefitting to string a younger unit around their Big 3. Moreover, the rise of young studs Andre Wiggins and Jordan Poole brought immense ease for both Curry and Thompson on the scoring end.

The likes of Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were terrific in the first-round series against the Denver Nuggets. But in specific, Stephen Curry managed to carry the team on his shoulders, alongside Poole and will now be eagerly waiting for the winner of Grizzlies vs Timberwolves series. Will we witness the rise of Steve Kerr’s Golden State Warriors once again in the modern-era? Or is the hype going to crumble soon enough? Remains to be seen, but for now Smith has surely joined the Warriors hype train.
