The 2022 NBA Finals was a series to remember. The series saw the Boston Celtics young core challenge for a championship for the first time. But it also showed the dynastical Golden State Warriors and their superstar Stephen Curry at his best. But Curry and the Warriors were already behind after game 3. The brutal reality ignited a spark in Curry.
Juwan Morgan was on the Boston Celtics team in that series. He was ecstatic when they won Game 3 and led the series 2-1. He envisioned getting a championship ring soon. While on the podcast Tidal League, Morgan shared something that destroyed his dream, and it came from Curry. Morgan said;
He looked, he just like 'Enjoy y'all last win'.
Morgan alluded that even though they were leading the series, Curry’s determination led him to give that mic-drop quote. Curry torched the Celtics in game 4.

Morgan said that when Curry said those words, he and his Celtics teammates were baffled. They thought they were in the lead and had one hand on the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Morgan joked that he even looked at which finger he would like to wear his championship ring.
Morgan has switched between the NBA and G League throughout his career. So he was very close to his dream of winning a championship. Only for it to be shattered by Curry’s determination. The Golden State Warriors won the Finals 4-2 with Stephen Curry as the Finals MVP.
Did Stephen Curry stand strong on his words?
Stephen Curry stuck to his words, which he belted to Juwan Morgan and his Celtics teammates. He put up 43 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists in Game 4 to bring the Warriors level with the Celtics. His performance motivated his teammates to perform better. They did when Curry had an off-shooting night in Game 5. Then, in Game 6 with the Warriors up 3-2, Curry led the scoring to lead the Warriors to their 4th Championship in 8 years.

This was Curry’s first Finals MVP trophy despite winning four championships. As in this series, he took charge when it seemed that the Boston Celtics were looking to run away with it. Curry took his MVP-caliber game into the final three showdowns, enough to avoid a Game 7 scenario.
Stephen Curry was already regarded as one of the best scorers in league history then. But in the 2022 Finals, Curry made his case for one of the greatest with those performances.
