Stephen Curry and Charles Barkley are both incredible basketball personnels, and they have surely proved a lot inside the arena. While Curry won 4-NBA titles and was selected for the NBA 75th anniversary team too. On the other hand, Hall of Famer Barkley is also a member of NBA’s anniversary teams and 1992 dream team too. Despite the latter’s epic NBA resume, he does fall flat in one particular area, and that is golf. It is a well-known fact that Barkley is a notoriously poor golfer, but that hasn’t stopped him from being very invested in the sport.
While Stephen Curry is making headlines in Golfing world also, he was asked for his response on the chances of Charles Barkley making the top 70 list at the American Century Championship, he had a hilarious reply to it, “No, hell no. Clip that, send it to him, and let him play it on every tee box. There’s no way he’s doing it. As much faith as Chuck has had in the Warriors and jump-shooting teams winning championships, that’s the least amount of faith I have in him hitting the Top 70.”
Interestingly during the Western Conference Finals, Barkley stated that he couldn’t care who wins the series as he just wanted it to get over so he can get to playing golf and fish every day.

Reigning NBA Champion Steph is playing well in the tournament, and at the end of the day, 1 shot a 77 on the Par 72 course, which resulted in a +16 in the tournament’s stable ford scoring. He finished his day tied for 10th, though his ranking could change depending on the other golfers who finish after him. He recorded a 41 on the front nine but tightened it up after the turn and shot par on the back nine.
For those who don’t know, Steph is yet to win the American Century Championship. But he finished in top-5 three times before. He is planning to better that record. Curry said if he won the ACC, his wife Ayesha knows which trophies to move around on the shelf.
“I hope we can make that decision on Sunday night when I get home,” Curry said, smiling. “(I’ve) played well, three times got in the top five. So I know I have it in there.
“This year, obviously coming off the finals, running deep into June, we’ll see how the golf game goes. That usually helps with lower expectations, just to go out and play free and just have fun, first and foremost. And if I can find a way to get off to a good start, that’s obviously the best feeling when you can feel like you’re in contention.”
As far as the comments on Charles Barkley go, that’s a fun, light-hearted shot fired there, and should not be counted as “a jib”. Barkley has long been a doubter of the Warriors and their style of play, but the Warriors did prove him wrong by winning the 2022 NBA Championship and Stephen Curry also was named Finals MVP, for the first time in his career.
Barkley picked against the Warriors all postseason, and now Draymond Green and co are making the analysts feel for their words.
