“Two busy individuals trying to raise a family” Stephen Curry revealed the biggest lesson he learned from Dell and Sonya
Stephen Curry may be one of the biggest superstars in the league at the moment, but his family could possibly be another huge part of the NBA as well. Over the years, we have seen the Curry family host several workshops and basketball events all over the country. It was absolutely inspiring to see the family bloom.
Unfortunately, last yeah Sonya and Dell Curry had filed for divorce after the former NBA star was accused of having multiple affairs throughout their marriage. The latter had also accused his wife of infidelity involving former NFL tight end Steve Johnson. The NBA World was left gutted with the incident and so was the family.
Stephen Curry wins his fourth championship following parents’ split
Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors to their fourth championship in six finals appearances. He also won his first ever finals MVP trophy after averaging a solid 31.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in the finals. Usually, you would find the All-Star’s parents cheering him on in the stands, they still were present but with other partners.
Sonya had attended the game with Johnson and Dell had brought his girlfriend who happens to be the NFL player’s ex-wife. Despite all odds, both parents came forth to congratulate Steph on the victory and he also greeted their partners with a smile. The champ admitted that it was tough going through a situation as such but he chose to keep his mind in the game.
Stephen Curry reveals biggest lesson his parents taught him
The NBA couple had raised not one, but three sportspersons which includes Seth Curry who plays for the Brooklyn Nets as the moment. Stephen Curry has often spoken about the lessons he had learned from his parents. He said, “I mean family is everything, there’s an example from you know the time I can remember obviously growing up with a dad that played in the NBA (and) mom who was an educator who started a Montessori school.”
“They were too busy individuals that were trying to raise a family and have successful careers. The biggest thing that they taught us was that we always support each other. We always show up like they are here today.” The former unanimous MVP also fathers three children along with Ayesha, his wife and long time partner.
