Stephen Curry solidifies 3-Point God status with never-before-seen playoff feat in Warriors vs Grizzlies Game 4 showdown

Stephen Curry

Another day, another 3-point record for Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. The fact that such an incredible achievement fails to gain the spotlight and attantion that it deserves, only goes on to tell us what Stephen Curry is all about. Acts and records like these are expected from him. No matter how absurd they are, we just expect and anticipate it.

Curry is already the greatest 3-point shooter of all time, but that doesn’t mean he is done ascending in the kingdom of basketball. He continues to smash records after records. During Game 4 of the 2nd round of playoffs, against the Memphis Grizzlies, he reached another record that should only further solidify his already unquestionable GOAT shooter status.

According to Stat Muse, Curry is now the 3-point leader in 3-points scored in post-season and the only player in NBA history to have at least 500 triples in the playoffs.

Breaking a 3-point record is one incredible feat, but setting a lone, unchallenged record and being the only one on that list is a Curry feat. A record like this will not seem surprising from Stephen Curry, especially when he is also the only player in league history with at least 3000 makes from beyond the arc in the regular season.

Despite the incredible record, the Warriors superstar would probably not be celebrating it for too long. The Warriors managed to grab the win in Game 4 and took the lead to 3-1, but the manner in which the win was achieved was disappointing. The Golden State Warriors, despite being an elite team, failed to play their game at a championship level. With Ja Morant out, the game was expected to be a blow-out win for the Dub nation.

But, in what seemed to be a dull game for most part, the Warriors trailed the Grizzlies by more 10 in 4th quarter. It is only in the last two minutes, the  Warriors came alive and bagged the win. Memphis Grizzlies, in Game 4, did make it very clear for Golden State that they were not an easy team to beat. Despite the absence of Ja Morant, their raw talent gave the former champions little chance throughout the game.

Warriors will be able to finish the series in Game 5, only if they have a flawless game and play the championship-level basketball that they do best. Grizzlies are the second seeds following a brilliant season under head coach Taylor Jenkins. With that said, Curry and the Warriors don’t have much time to celebrate individual accomplishments until they get the job done.
